Never mind the fact that most people don't have millions of randoms in their parties anyways. Sure you may meet party members that way but on a dead game it's probably just you and people you met there or on another site anyways.

Tbf, I swear at least one or two of them did mention they signed the petition back when it was new but the fact it took something like this kind of drama to bring it to the forefront of everyone's attention should serve as a reminder of how the average person's mind actually works. At the very least it also served as extra motivation for anyone who already agreed with the intent of the initiative so that they could get back at Mald for his insolence and make him seethe just by doing what they already intended to do.

As long as theres enough of a buffer for the fake (or as ross talks about ones with errors in them) signatures, I think it will be fine. the petition has 28 days to go and while I'm sure it will slow down after it hit the big 1 mill, I have faith that it will still have enough. plus with ross saying there can be legal consequences that will probably disenfranchise people doing it. people wont want to get Euro-feds on their ass because they wanted to "own someone on the internet".

slight vidya spergery but even from an artistic standpoint mald bringing up FFXIV is a retarded idea because not only does it pull from the past of the franchise, but it paved the way for the future of final fantasy with that team eventually taking on the development of FF 16.
it would be like if companies wouldn't release movie tie in ride footage for stuff like Terminator or back to the future because "you wouldn't be able to experience the ride system fully" but even more retarded as in this case its not like you're gonna need your own engineering degree to get said experience.

An ECI is like a mandatory shareholder proposal for the citizens of the EU. A sufficient number of shareholders can force an issue onto the agenda of a company's annual board meeting. The board is legally required to address the proposal and formally respond to it, but they are not required to vote 'yes' on it.

Ross goes over it in more detail in the "I give up" video, but a European Citizens' Initiative isn't a petition. If it hits a million legitimate signatures, the commission has to grant you an audience and officially consider the initiative. Where it goes from there we'll find out, but it can't be ignored in the same way a change.org petition can.
