Who is she referring to here? It can't be Sugar since her avatar is Ruby and Ruby is a blessed cherub of a character.
Lily is referring to Steven as Sugar's author insert so she can spit venom at her with none of the "blowback" of attacking a real-life person.
Why she can't just let arguments do the talking instead of making 25 min video full of ad-hominem attacks? I dunno.

It's a second verse same as the first kinda thing with this video that's the TLDW I got from it anyway.

Steven is based on her brother, how does Lily not know this lol

yes this and some homophobia/transphobia(well according to her 'standards' anyway).
Specifically because Persona is about characters and the relationships between those characters and Lily was pissed that it didn't have a fast-forward button so she could skip all of the story elements and get to her usual power fantasy combat stuff
I'm curious. Has he ever voiced an opinion on Persona 2? It doesn't have many social elements, its mostly combat, and it has a majority LGBTQ party that goes around punching Nazis. Judging by his reactions to the other games it sounds like persona 2 would be perfect for him.

Not to my knowledge, and believe me, I'd know. The well is poisoned for him for anything related to anime and JRPGs that aren't Kingdom Hearts, so don't count on him giving it a glowing review, much less looking at it in the first place. Not to mention Persona 2 isn't strictly straightforward, and I know Jerry hates that too. Lol

Perhaps one of his biggest issues with Persona is that the narrative is too long and largely unskippable, despite the fact that the narrative is a major part of the game and you can fast forward through dialogue, and if your only goal is to play a largely story-based game like the Persona series without paying attention to the story at least once, then you're setting yourself up to hate it

I doubt Lily knows anything about the Persona series outside of the click-bait articles she's skimmed on Buzzfeed. I mean, she can't even be bothered to double check her facts on a series that she genuinely likes, even when she's doing a video on about it! I don't think that Lily's going to bother looking into a series that she's predisposed to immediately dismiss as "garbage" and, even on the off chance she did take a quick look or one of her fans brought this up to her, she'd probably string together some rhetoric that's been sprinkled with whatever "-ism" or "-phobic's" of the day she feels like using to explain why it's not "worth her time".

Lily only steps outside of her comfort zone when a significant amount of her fans push her to, and most of the time she goes in complaining all the way so even on the very slim chance she ends up playing it she'll probably hate it because she'll go into it determined to do so.

Bro you faked a heart attack and created another fake persona to "moderate" your tumblr due to your intense stress when people were coming after you for abusing Patchwork, sit the fuck down LOL

This is funny because Lily has said that character relationships are the most important part of a story, no questions asked, plot is utterly irrelevant it is 100% about the characters and their relationship with each other.

Then again she only seems to care about character relationships when it's lesbian lovers...

I've said this before, but this is really the thing about Lily's criticism that's so irksome. I love the Persona games, but I totally understand why somebody wouldn't be able to get into them; they are extremely dialogue heaving and the social calendar aspect takes up a huge amount of gameplay (and isn't something you can just ignore; even if you decide to blitz through without bothering with Social Links somehow, you still have to go through a LOT of time between major plot points or dungeon crawls). I found myself fast forwarding through some of the conversations in Persona 5 Royal (having played the game on original release), and I remember when I went to New Game+ Persona 4 being boggled that it took over an hour just to reach a point where you can save the game.

Totally understand people not getting into it. There are very legitimate reasons. For any given piece of media there are very legitimate reasons for a person to just not be into it, the most dominant being, well... they just aren't into it. It's not for them. No problem there.

The problem arises when Lily, in her claims to be a 'media analyst' or 'critic', doesn't actually view things with a critical eye. It solely comes down to her opinion on it. If it's not something that she would enjoy, for whatever reason, then she can't take a step back and say "I see where this is coming from. It's not for me, but I get why people like it." It's always, "If this doesn't pander to my specific tastes, it is literally garbage, that is objective fact, the only people that would enjoy this thing are too stupid to understand why it's bad'.

I don't really like Dark Souls because the heavy, methodical gameplay just isn't how I want to engage with a game, but I totally see why they're such popular games. They just aren't for me.

Lily doesn't like Dark Souls, and that's because they are objectively bad games with objectively bad design and people only like them because they've been brainwashed.

Oh, trust me, it's been archived by who knows how many people, one way or another.
Speaking of mysterious disappearances, here's a hilariously long ask (submission?) that was recently deleted.

aah fuck, I actually like Doraemon, so it's sucks to see one of lily's fans using it as an argument to inflate her ego and her opinions.
Sometimes, I don’t know who’s worse, Lily or her fans.

Also, what is this obsession with the slice of life genre?

I can only assume it's because slice of life rarely has plot, action, or lore to distract from the characters and relationships.

It's very hypocritical of her (surprise surprise) because she's written countless amounts of wikis and unnecessary background for her stupid fanfiction. She can claim until she's blue in the face that her pokemon comic is a slice of life sitcom, but the 3rd or 4th melodramatic human trafficking mind rape story arc will say otherwise.

May I also remind you of the writing tips thread. A sizable amount were just underhanded jabs at shows and communities she hates. This slice of life nonsense is just her slinging shit at the theory and lore communities in several contemporary fandoms; she oversteps her bounds and assumes analysis and critique are the same, so no one can enjoy a show in a way she doesn't.

It's like if Roger Ebert said that anyone who appreciates movies for cinematography is ruining the craft.

She's just realizing this now? That's literally exactly what they do in the military. Only in the military they scream it right to your face, which we all know she wouldn't be able to handle since she already cant handle online criticism from anons.
Could a swore she had a video to the contrary. A mlp episode where she called hazing and military yelling damaging and never ok.

You know what else you could do?

Not be a total shithead.

Because it sounds like that black lady friend was a total shithead who was out to pick fights and bully people based on immutable traits of identity and couldn't take the backlash that comes with being a consummate asshole.

This is advice in life as well as in Youtube: don't be a dick. And that's not an expression of 'weakness', that's just giving basic human decency to your presumed audience and not insulting them for arbitrary factors. Have a critical discussion about something, by all means. But you can have a critical discussion without being an abrasive dickhead.
