The thing I don't get, is waxxing doesn't seem like a field that really needs a lot of "training" or "experts"....isn't it something many women just do at home themselves? Like....are the techniques THAT different and THAT complex that it couldn't be figured out and an expert witness is needed?

The whole thing just seems stupid to me...I don't think anyone should be forced to work with male junk if they don't want to, but the way this has blown up is ridiculous to me for the above reasons in addition to everything else highlighted in this thread.
I mean, I definitely wouldn't put money on my ability to wax some dude's nutsack without causing serious injury. And the standards for professionals are higher than your average halfhearted at-home botch job.

I'm not doubting it's a different technique, but it just seems weird that either would be complex enough to need special training. Like, you use different techniques to make tea and coffee, but I am certain anyone who can make one drink can make the other.
You'd want someone experienced to wax below the equator. There are techniques and wax for different parts of the body, and there is minor aftercare.

Yaniv would have a case if someone not experienced left the wax on too long and ripped pieces of his skin off. (I had this happen with an eyebrow, I can only imagine the pain it would cause genitals)

From an untrained pov I find it hard to understand how a scrotum could be waxed safely. Hot wax on a delicate area, and all that loose skin. The whole point of waxing is you RIP the wax off quickly, taking the hair out with it. Doing that on loose, delicate scrotal skin... Seems like a high risk of a tear. Maybe you can hold the skin taut, or some other technique, but without googling - which absolutely not going to do before breakfast - I'd not know how to do it. Seems very reasonable to assume a level of training is required.

If it was that complicated it wouldn't be able to be done at home by people themselves, which it is.

Simple, relatively easily accessible waxing is often done at home - face, legs, etc - and even then people can have difficulty reaching tricky areas and/or hurt themselves. I never heard of anyone waxing their bollocks at home. I'll stand corrected on Man Stuff, but it seems unlikely to me

That makes sense....I just assumed like an idiot.

Just reporting what JCCF is arguing that their expert says.

But most laypersons have been informed that scrotums (scrotii?)

"Scrotums" is fine, but if you're insistent on using the Latin plural, it's a second-declension neuter noun, so it's scrota. I don't know why people are so insistent on pluralizing all Latin nouns with -ii, which isn't even an ending. Now -i is the second-declension masculine nominative plural ending, but the word would only end in -ii of the stem ended in an "I"; even in that case, that stem "I" is not part of the ending.

Why would waxing a scrotum require a different kind of wax and training than that for giving a woman a bikini wax? The Montreal Mirror explains it all. It also talks about the pervert factor.

And this rollicking first-person account that begins, "The scabs on my scrotum have finally healed up," makes me think we should set up a dominatrix with a BC waxing webpage to lure in our needy friend and give him a ripping good time he'll never forget. Or would that be w e e n i n g? Weener w e e n i n g?

You have my support to go and do the market research yourself :lit:

I’ve list it in these 130 pages, did Jonathan ever get his lady balls waxed? He did find some people that would do it, correct?

If he didn’t get the procedure that kinda shows bad faith, right?

A place called "Foxy Box" had indeed waxed JY, and JY left a positive review. Someone asked Meghan Murphy on Twitter if Jonathan Yaniv was the one who'd filed all the waxing complaints.

She replied, "Yeah that's him." That Tweet is what Twitter cited in permanently suspending her.

ETA: It's becoming clear that JonnyTampax is in cahoots with Oger and Kreut regarding takedowns:

1) Oger bragged about taking down Null over JY on Twitter, down to screenshotting Oger's complaint against Null. Oger pinned a Tweet celebrating GenderTrender's demise that doxed the blogger, and has moved from calling the screenshots "alarming" to dismissing them as unsubstantiated because they're on "hate sites" and doubling down on how JY is supposedly intersex, it's "no one's business" whether JY has a dick, 75,000 transwomen will suffer because of dick discrimination.

2) Heartless showed up at r/gendercynical to troll r/gc because they cited KF as source for /u/wrongtoy's temp ban. /u/wrongtoy noted that HH (speaker at Vancouver Women's March) lived in the metro Vancouver area along with JY and Oger, and that's what got /u/wrongtoy banned.

Yaniv through his antics is trying to get into the same club as Oger and Kreut, who also used extreme sperging to get there to financial/social benefit. It's working.

ETA: Blue tick account Twitters about Yaniv today, more new bannination receipts: https://twitter.com/boodleoops/status/1084044659150778369

ETA2: OP wonders whether she's not getting banned b/c of blue tick. Others coming in to say they haven't been banned and wondering if they're too obscure.

And journalist Jon Kay confirms he lost his blue tick over Yaniv:

On r/gcdebatesqt, QT calls out r/gc for daring to like racist, ableist, hate site KiwiFarms, especially sperges about Null:

This is posted as a response to this thread over on the main GenderCritical subreddit, where extremely large amounts of anti-trans feminists fawn over the white genocide conspiracy theorist (source) anti-feminist and anti-race mixing (source) and potentially-kidding-potentially-not muslim genocide advocate (source) owner of the trolling website, Kiwifarms, for his actions against some online trans person I'm not familiar with. This includes him showing up in the thread and being heavily upvoted, along with a slew of comments about how he's great.

While casual cooperation with questionable groups is already par for the course for some facets of the community, I have to admit, I was shocked to see this level of support for a website that openly mocks the disabled, PoC, and other vulnerable groups as well as trans people. To those who share the sentiment expressed in this thread, could you explain how you feel able to overlook these issues, or why you don't feel they are important? If you don't, would you mind speculating from the perspective of someone active within your community why you feel so many are able to?

Unlike the evangelical thread, I'm not posting this as a sort of a bad opinion honeypot. I'm honestly thrown off. Up until this point, I'd had the loose impression that radfems were still broadly leftist, so now I'm feeling unsure about how to even approach these issues.

Edit: To put this here since people keep mistaking my intent, my point with this topic is not to criticize the "work" this person is doing in this instance in isolation, but rather the lionization and unqualified praise of a white nationalist.

It is possible to condemn two people at the same time.

Oh and wait, this reply...

I will not be posting on /r/GC until this blows over because of my disgust and discomfort with this KF shit. I had never heard of KF until recently, on GC. I spoke out against it when someone shared a screenshot of their front page with the nword on it. After commenting that it was disgusting to be sharing kf stuff, I was told I don't care about women. It made me cry. For my mental health i'm gonna have to stay away. I am longing more than ever for a leftist gc space because I am not okay with white supremacists.

It is insane that we're even having to discuss that different training is required to wax men and women. It shouldn't matter if the techniques are different. Women shouldn't need a "reason" to not want to touch a man's scrotum. The fact that women even let themselves get reduced to this is infuriating. Feminists have spent decades ranting and raving over perceived injustices that barely exist and yet have somehow allowed themselves to get hoodwinked into being sexually harassed by men in dresses. Bizarre.

I love this. Oh no, how can anyone possibly ally with a group that OPENLY MOCKS people on the internet! Well I never. Somebody grab my fainting couch.
