Yeah, I didn't really care for the show, but my parents watched it pretty regularly. If I'm remembering correctly, Roz was the lady who worked with Frasier at the radio station, and Daphne was the quirky English woman took care of Frasier's dad. For some reason I kept remembering her with huge tits or something.

I recall he even endorsed trump when he was first chosen as the candidate in 2016, dk if he supported him much during the term though. if he is how is he still getting work? My guess is this reboot is a trap. It's network tv's way of trying to make him slip up and "expose" something that can get him cancelled just like what they did to Rosanne Barr

Yes Grammer is a conservative and he also he supported Trump during his entire presidency. He even endorsed Trump during his re-election.

The hit 90s TV comedy Frasier, starring Kelsey Grammer as a snobbish radio advice-show host, is to return to television nearly two decades after it last aired. Grammer said he would reprise his role in a revival of the series, which ran for 263 episodes between 1993 and 2004.

Frasier, a spin-off of the TV series Cheers, was one of the most successful shows of the 90s and 00s, winning five consecutive Emmy awards for outstanding comedy series and running for 11 seasons. The series followed Grammer’s character, who returns to Seattle to care for his elderly father, with his pretentious psychiatrist brother, Niles Crane.

"There has long been a call from fans for its return, and that call is now answered,” David Stapf, president of CBS Studios, said in a statement.

Grammer added that he “gleefully [anticipated] sharing the next chapter in the continuing journey of Dr Frasier Crane”.

The series, produced by CBS Studios, will air on the new streaming service Paramount+ in the US, with a date yet to be confirmed.

In 2018 it was reported that Grammer was pitching a reboot to studios, which would see his character return in a new setting. In an interview published that year, Grammer said the series was “not going to be [set in] Seattle. It’s not going to be the same Frasier. It’s going to be the man in his next iteration. Hopefully that’ll be something people like watching. But I think it’ll be funny.”

they haven't been relevant because they haven't been good. there's a reason that format worked for literal decades.
sitcoms are basically western slice of life, you follow a bunch of characters and laugh/emphasize about their antics and struggles. it's literally the easiest format to produce because it works pretty much universally for every one. why do you think shit like that can run for 10-15 years?
however, while it looks piss easy to do (which is one of the reasons networks were shitting them out constantly, but honestly how many of those do you even remember?), you still need to bring the entertainment value people want. if the stories are dumb, the characters are retards and nothing is relatable, why the fuck would anyone care and want to tune in every week or sub for it on a streaming service? or watch anything else for that matter?

I bet the minute a network is throwing out all the current year shit and hires good writers with actors that aren't complete imbeciles (tough chance), they gonna rake in the cash, because it fills a niche people have been sorely missing (whether they know it or not), especially with all the idpol retardation and covid.

I figure some of the reasons they don't do them anymore is
1) they're not funny anymore,
2) they're not devoid of politics/"virtue signaling" (for lack of a better term), and
3) most importantly, the networks either aren't interested in producing a family show (not all sitcoms but most) or there isn't much of a demand for them by the audience to watch a family show these days (whether the audience watches the show individually or with family and friends as used to be the case).

1 +2 are direct cause of shit writers and pandering. you can see the same in video games, books etc.
3 is your usual FOTM, like few years back everyone wanted their own zombie drama for easy cash and marketing, then rape and dragons after GOT got popular. and while there might be an audience it completely ignores the faction that has no interest in that. let's say 60% of the market want what ever is popular, producing that gets you a piece of that 60% (usually much less, because when everybody is catering to the 60% there isn't enough for everybody), and 60% is bigger than 40%, so it makes sense on paper, right? but that leaves out that the other 40% would get you a much bigger gain. same shit in video games etc, which I assume is a consequence of their focus testing 2 the max.

anime and associated media shows there's certainly interest in that kind of material, but on top the lopsided statistics it's like lucasfilm and almost every pedowood tard is producing shit for god knows who, but certainly not the audience. besides some woketards on twitter and the soibots on their staff, no one has interest in that shit. I mean look at the NFL, when your numbers go down while everyone is stuck at home due to corona, it means something is objectively wrong.
sure, they might coast by for now with their streaming services (till that bubble pops at least) because people are still watching all the old stuff that's not complete shit, but at some point people want new stuff, there's not point in a sub only to watch the same thing over and over (and if you do might as well get the bluray)

NGL if Roz were the main character the movie would be far better, since she would say something dirty to the General Guy.

Frasier was good. The Niles and Daphne stuff got a little old after five years, and the last few seasons where Frasier was just desperate and pathetic were kinda depressing. Overall, though, you got maybe seven good seasons of solid comedy.


Don't know what they possibly have planned for the reboot, but if Will & Grace could pull it off, Frasier certainly can.
