The reason why Neck is paying so much is because he's living in a motel or extended stay hotel. As he said, even with a 55% discount (which is typical when you stay long term at these places) it's still very high. He'd be better off doing a long-term air bnb or renting a room from someone, but as others have mentioned, he likely has poor credit and references so he's getting his pockets drained. Considering he got his car repo'd, I doubt any place that checks credit will let him stay. Air BNB doesn't check credit as far as I know, but you can look at the profile and reviews of someone who wants to stay. If you rented rooms via Air BNB, would you let Neck stay in your house?
