Perhaps a better way to state my point is this forum is not a representative audience--everyone who ends up here has spent an absurd amount of time reading about all sorts of minutiae regarding Chris. Sure, people here would gripe that this or that was left out of a hypothetical film. But good documentaries are not necessarily "comprehensive" in this sense--in fact, by necessity they can never be, because any topic worth a film has too much ground to be covered in a few hours. Someone mentioned Grizzly Man--there was certainly much more video footage of Tim Treadwell than Chris has created in YouTube videos, but Herzog is a skilled filmmaker and was able to select the right material to portray Treadwell in an accurate and entertaining matter. A good documentary about Chris doesn't need to summarize every panel of Sonichu or go over every saga or include a clip from every captain's log. In fact, it is precisely the documentary filmmaker's perspective and selection of materials that makes his or her portrayal of the subject worthwhile.
