I hear this repeated a bunch in this thread and on the subreddit and I never understood why. Clint clearly cares for and loves Josh. He goes out of his way to do a ton for him. He handles his SSI for him making sure his rent is paid, he holds his debit card, files his taxes, arranges to have Josh's stepmom dropoff groceries, calls Josh and checks in on him. There's also footage of them out to dinner where Clint is joking with him and making dad jokes and it's so clear he loves him but can't help him because Josh rejects any form of help.

What we get to see and hear from Clint is "Alcoholism? Drug addiction? Schizo rants? Fuck those dang dirty jealous trolls son, lets go to a waterpark or whatever other diversion in order not to deal with any of those real issues!" which gives an unfavorable impression of Clint to some people. Although admittedly we don't get to see everything else that goes on around josh so I can see how there may be some hope clint is indeed getting him help behind the scenes and Josh simply doesn't talk about it.

For as long as Cobes has been going off the rails people have speculated what they’d do to wrangle him back to a better place, the only person in any position to attempt it really is Clint, and by saying things like ‘the trolls are jealous of my autistic sons success’ he’s doing the complete opposite.

You can argue that, but I'm not sure the courts would say anything beyond the legalese version of "he's a fuckin retard but is more or less harmless." He's not doing anything criminal, he's just a stinky weirdo with an unconventional life. Between his SSD and donations (and, realistically, help from Clint and step-mom), he makes ends.

I can't imagine rehab hasn't been talked about. I think it's unwise to assume that what we see on stream is the totality of his existence, especially since it tends to be clipped down and more entertaining, gross, and bizarre stuff highlighted.

Having kids, especially ones as fucked as Josh, is not an easy black and white, even when they're 18. You can be as cold as you want in the abstract but I think it just suggests that you don't have kids or a disabled family member that you're responsible for.

I really don't think it will happen. At the very least they would need to fly Jet or some other zoomer out there, pick him up and fly back with him. They'd have to do the same to get him home. All so he could just quit after a day.
