So in Cobe's update video he mentioned he put tape(blue painters tape) all over his lid because the lid was cracked, so I doubt he has anything resembling an airtight seal, while your recreation does have an airtight seal, you might just be actually making a *better* bog mead than him.

Thank you for pointing this out. I had completely overlooked the fact that he may not have an airtight seal, and that it is preventing fermentation from happening. I will legitimately be amazed if anything "good" results from the mead, but I won't be suprised if it's better than his result, for the reasons yoy stated.

Not much of an update today.
The Boglim Brew is still a weird milky color. The pickled carrots and jalapeños have now sunk down and settled to the bottom (another key difference between what he has shown with his mead. His vegetables were still floating to the top)

Once again, to my suprise, there seems to be another indication of some activity going on. Whether it's bacterial or the yeast, I still do not know, but the airlock is still slugishly bubbling (it has remained at bubbling at about two bubbles per minute), and at the very surface of the mead liquid, you can see very tiny bubbles bubbling to the surface. I usually see this happening to my normal ciders about 72 hours after I have pitched a batch and the initial yeast rise has settled back down.

Note: Despite being airtight, and having an airlock with water in the reservoir, I am starting to detect a feint aroma coming from the Boglim mead. It's not overly offensive, but not pleasant. It's sweet, like fruit just before going bad, hints of fresh ground black pepper, and a very subtle undernote of wet dog. I will move the mead to the garage in a cool dark spot so it doesn't stink up my kitchen.

Also, I hate reddit troles. They are just jealous toobs.

I really don't think they even care about people saying faggot and nigger. They know that these are no-no words and they can (in their eyes) dole out some deserved punishment by reporting him to the proper authorities and want to see him suffer from it. I honestly think that was one of the best moments in the Cobraverse that wasn't directly related to Josh, some of Chauncy's reactions where amazing - worst thing is they didn't do half of them and now they can add home brew into the mix - I'm so so sorry for @SeizureRobot5000 is going to have to endure at some point but if he would be so kind as to leave a forwarding address we will pass the hat around and get his next of kin some flowers for the funeral.

Now that you mention it when I looked through the subreddit there were quite a few comments with people revealing they are also either alcoholics or drug addicts. You are probably right that a lot of them are jealous because josh at the very least can grift some money to feed his addictions, while they are probably in a similar or worse position.
