Someone earlier mentioned she flashed her ticket on stream (big mistake). On most airline websites, all you need is the first and last name and the confirmation number to manage bookings; it's a big flaw in the system.

Recently, there was a guy who boarded a Delta flight with a picture of someone else's ticket; he got in a lot of trouble for that.

If the airline can't reverse the cancellation, she'll most likely just get put on standby. It doesn't cost the airlines anything to put people on standby.
