The brain is a crazy thing and I have a hard time understanding my weird one. Cobes is something else in a good way and every other way. I honestly think autism doesn't explain it all. The lack of dental hygiene or not brushing his teeth is really weird to me. When I found out about the role of fluoride and tooth remineralization, it became priority #1. As for special interests, I've found that many of the things I like connect to other topics. If you're good with languages, then it helps when studying other cultures, which helps to understand a diverse range of people's worldviews. I think a lot of autists don't use their interests to branch out into other things, which is why so many get hyper focused on a narrow range.

I think Cobes has gone full on LHP on many topics and doesn't realize it is to his detriment. Seriously, being contrary on things just for it's own sake often leads to bad things. Look at the Aghori in India. They're very much so that way. Just nasty people trying to be Shiva.

All animals require boundaries in order to function and survive; as much as some might hate to hear it, humans are animals.

In his entire life, Josh lacks discipline, and while I agree that Clint has overall gone above and beyond for him, he's also excused every fucked up aspect of his life as "He's Just Disabled". He's operated under the guise of "my kid's a tard, so really, we're just lucky he hasn't burned himself to death drinking and smoking".

This guy, in any other era, might've been getting the smacks(I don't necessarily mean actual slaps, but maybe that too) he needed to shape up and earn his fathers' respect and love, and honestly, he might've preferred it that way. I know people with bigger disabilities and drawbacks than he has, and they actually function because their parents used both the Carrot and the Stick in preparing them for the world.
