Legend of Zelda thread - Lorefags GTFO!

I see it. There's sadness in a lot of places and quests ingame. Unlike OoT, you don't really fix the world. People just move on as they did before. The people who died stay dead.
Did you ever play Final Fantasy VI? That is another game that treads this line. Even after you beat the game, the world has been completely trashed and families torn apart. A huge portion of the population are dead and the environment has been wrecked. But you killed the big bad guy at least! ... yay.

i always wondered if it would be possible to do a perfect run of majoras mask, where over the course of a three days, without time travelling, you rescue everyone and defeat all of the bosses.

I have not played a single Final Fantasy game. It's just one of those major series I somehow missed.

If you like older JRPGs you can't go wrong with old Final Fantasy. IV and VI are good litmus tests to see if you enjoy the series as it largely remains unchanged up through Final Fantasy IX. After that is becomes much more heavy into TEENAGE MELODRAMA. And Dragon Quest if you missed those. Dragon Quest V is one of the few JRPGs that gives Chrono Trigger a run for its money.

You may very well have played these already. But if any of you other readers out there have overlooked these games, get on it! You can get them very easily. Your trifecta is Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy VI and Dragon Quest V. You're going to be playing some really good games if you line those three up. And then after that we can talk about Secret of Evermore and Secret of Mana, which pair really nicely with A Link to the Past.

We can talk about Secret of Evermore anytime because that is a fantastic game that earnestly deserves its place among the greatest of RPGs, and it got a raw deal from retards thinking it was the replacement for Trials of Mana.

I actually beat that game, too. Fuck that desert/wasteland section with the impossible to find shit. Really weird game and I am glad I played it.

It's very underrated. I liked it a lot, and actually beat it. I didn't even finish Secret of Mana.

There's a lot of mods for Final Fantasy. My partner is playing it with a naked twunk Cloud, and a naked Twink Cloud replacing the girl, and a naked black man with a literal baseball bat between his legs.

It wasn't until a couple years ago that I got off my lazy butt and played an FF game from start to finish, with it being FFVII, what with the Remakes and all that. Let's just say I found myself one of my top favorite games by the end of it.

Back to the topic on hand, while I am still cautious about TOTK, I can't say that the new gameplay elements introduced don't have me intrigued. Already I can see possibilities brewing in my head over what emergent solutions can be found.

Out of the Zelda games I played I personally found Phantom hourglass to be the only genuine disappointment. I was probably about halfway through before I gave up because I found the temple of the ocean king gimmick to be tedious and the control scheme annoyed me in the long run. On some level I could've expected this but I wanted to give it an honest try back in the day. I never bothered with Spirit tracks because I figured it would have similar issues.

What do you guys think about Tears of The Kingdom? I'm in the process of modding my semi broken Switch so I can emulate it.

I'm cautiously optimistic. I'm hoping all those empty building foundations we saw in the gameplay preview are some sort of village-building feature that lets us actually restore Hyrule so as to give the player more incentive to explore the map again.
