Legend of Zelda thread - Lorefags GTFO!

Nintendo is selling game vouchers if you're an NSO member and BOTW 2 is included with the voucher program. 2 games for $100. I don't think BOTW 2 will be worth $70, but at least they'll let you get two games for $50 each.

That's a really good deal if you day 1 stuff, but if you wait even a little bit you can get even well received first party games for under 50 each.

Fucking where? I've been waiting to pick up a lot of first party because I don't think it's worth full price.

Fucks sake, I waited so long for Star Fox 3DS, that shit is dead and gone before they dropped the price a penny.

Started playing the switch version of Skyward Sword a few days ago, and it seems pretty fun so far. I've only just beaten the forest dungeon, though, so maybe I just haven't reached the part that made people hate it. That, or it's because I don't have to flick a wiimote around to swing my sword.

I mean he’s not wrong.

Nintendo banned me from the eShop for accidentally turning wifi on with a modded sysNAND enabled so I guess I'll take the $0 version and won't have to limit my licenced bobblehead budget this month.

Compared to how hyped I was for Breath of the Wild, this trailer left me feeling absolutely nothing. Guess I'm glad Link finally got his driving license.
With how tight they've been on details I won't be surprised if the trailers are kind of a mislead.

I don't really care either way since all I want are dungeons back and I doubt that's happening, but at the same time it wouldn't shock me at all if they're fishing for a blast of "WHOAH THEY ACTUALLY BROUGHT DUNGEONS BACK!" articles on launch day (or something similar. A dark world, you actually play as Zelda for 95% of the game, some shit like that).

Sadly, I think that dungeons are almost certainly back, at the expense of putting more time into the overworld.

They are definitely being too tight with details at this point, but I also think the trailer was just bad. Maybe it's me though, I'm not really interested in being able to build a car or a helicopter, or whatever. That's not what I'm looking for in a Zelda game.

Also going back to the same map doesn't feel very exciting to me, and the sky islands kinda look like a bunch of 3d assets they just tossed in there. We've seen underground areas so I wonder if there's going to be a fleshed out undeground to explore, or if it's just a bunch of caves with moblins fucking about.

There's something unappealing in the way they presented the game that I hope doesn't reflect the finished product.

I don't know why I couldn't exactly put this into words until now. This is the exact problem I have with everything.

Nintendo hasn't shown me a damn thing I actually wanted after Breath of the Wild. I haven't seen an actual dungeon at all. I've seen some running around in caves but not enough to think they're going to be labyrinths or even house puzzles and treasure since there seems to be such a focus on sky temple shit. For all I know, the big shots are just cutscenes, and otherwise I'm just going to go down a hallway to find some overworld mini boss.

Like, who the hell finished Breath of the Wild and thought "That was good, but I really want the next game to be about building vehicles."? Cause that and more lorefag shallow storytelling is all I've gotten over the last 6 years of hype building.

And if that's what Zelda fans want now? Cool I guess, but I'm not spending 70 dollars on it.

Luckily I barely touched that barren wasteland of a game, so if they actually added dungeons in then this will just be the actual finished product I originally expected.

Doing my boy Majora's mask wrong like that.
my bad. i never really played majoras mask for some reason so i do not have a personal opinion on it.
If you like TP and OoT, you need to play MM. You can clearly follow a chronological sequence of events through in-game and out-game lore. Ocarina flows into Majora, which then after a long time becomes Twilight Princess, the games are inextricably linked, like a Trilogy. Majora's Mask and Midna's helmet, the Hero's Shade existing, TP Link being a rancher with an Epona... all of these things and more link the games together and are very interesting bits of lore that interest me far more as a Zelda fan than Sheikah Shrines. And TP Link ain't no Twink, ya dig?

This is the dumbest thing they do. I would get banning multiplayer or something, but just straight up entirely banning a console from online because you hacked it literally just forces you to pirate games. The best part is that they still force system updates on banned consoles

Yup; the irony is that the only reason I turned wifi on was to buy a game.

No idea what the logic is supposed to be with this policy.
