Imo Slowbeef is actually looking a lot better than he used to and cleans up pretty good. Diabetus is still handsome but he should just shave his head at this point.

Beef's become the barbeque dad with stereotypical "7-8-9!" jokes but poor Betus transformed from Matthew Mchonaheughy into the beady middle-management Jew boss that can't understand why none of his subordinates like him. What the hell happened?

The latest thing that the retards are spazzing out about is NFTs and how they're bad for the environment.

NFTs have no innate value and use computing resources that contribute to humanity's carbon footprint!
But do you know what does have innate value and runs off a carbon-neutral infrastructure of magic?: streaming videogames and Giant Bomb's subscription service, of course:

Imagine being so retarded that you'd fall for a scam like buying digital art (please subscribe to Slowbeef's twitch and donate):

He's so upset by them that he wants to auto-block anyone for even having one as a twitter avatar:

Without a hint of irony, Slowbeef retweets that you should buy digital art to support digital artists:

When these twats whine about NFTs destroying the environment just imagine how much more damaging videogames are - not just in electricity usage for consoles, PCs and servers but also in the materials used to make those things and their accessories. These faggots will smarm about people being conned for buying NFTs but then buy games off Steam and waste their time and electricity playing them for thousands of hours. They whine about blockchain shit destroying the environment from their apartments filled with plastic manchild garbage.

I genuinely forgot that Ironicus existed. What the fuck? Seeing that name and avatar completely shocked me.

His Twitter avatar is actually pretty flattering. The guy looks like the quintessential middle manager that nobody likes.

He's also one of those guys you think is really chill but is actually a malding virtue signaller on Twitter. The anti Proteus if you will.

excuse me, but sometimes virtue signaling NPCs make me mad at the internet.

regarding NFTs: if our environment could be 'saved' by destroying a bunch of shitty old servers, then humanity might've just done that. sloganeering climate cultists believe that NFTs or "the blockchain" are destroying the planet, but nobody knows how anything works. there is no proof that energy used by blockchain is causing mother nature to die in the blood-boiling agony of intense cosmic radiation; incidentally however, there's tons of proof that: solar energy is useless - one, it produces and contributes less than zero percent to U.S. electricity; two, the manufacturing of the panels, which themselves are destined to fail in a matter of months to years, is demonstrably, extremely toxic for the environment - and power-farm windmills kill tons of birds (in addition to being obnoxiously loud)... and curiously, China, already the highest generator of pollution on our lovely blue world, mines 70 percent of the world's bitcoin...

:story:

the one and only factual point about NFTs is that they were intended to prove ownership and involvement. at its core, it is dependent on an 'original source' for its value. NFTards on social media are clueless, because NFTs as they know them - blockchain crypto-collectibles, pogs, whatever - will never be worth anything and nobody will ever give a shit about buying in. ubisoft, dead by daylight, and all other examples of NFTs in gaming are plain scams with a lot of smoke and mirrors for cover. the conversations around NFTs in the ethereum ecosystem back in 2016 had nothing whatsoever to do with artists, either. NFTs were spoken about as a way to lodge generic statements or claims into the blockchain as part of the larger consideration of putting more information onto the blockchain, because blockchain fart huffers weren't content with only having random transactions occur in what they think is the coolest and bestest decentralized ledgering system ever invented.

in theory, NFTs 'could' be very good for protecting artists, in certain ways, if used in very specific ways within very specific environments. to date, they haven't been used like that. one particular situation for games would be thus: instead of a centralized marketplace like Steam, a game maker (or someone making content for simulator games like Tabletop Sim) could make an official module, and then tie the use of that module to checking a blockchain for an NFT that proves an ownership stake. you would no longer need a steam license, or all the patchwork implementation shit surrounding it. you pay for the license, with money, and the creator issues you an immutable proof that you paid, with money. anything that checks proof can confirm it, trustlessly. you just point at the proof. for music, the idea is that, after paying for an album, the artist would give you an NFT, and then anything from spotify to amazon would stream that album to you after being given proof. that is NOT a good idea.

if an NFT (or, YOUR NFT, rather) doesn't give you any rights based on what you're putting down money for, it's retarded. an NFT would, ostensibly, be good to prove ownership digitally/in such a way that the company cannot revoke your purchase or rights. ironically, DLC ownership is one of the better applications for NFT usage, way better than, "I arbitrarily own this digital avatar that someone pooped out of GIMP in five seconds." in the current situation, DLC is done as codes that can be revoked pretty much at will by whatever company holds the servers. of course, game DLC codes as NFTs require that companies fundamentally admit that they themselves are not trustworthy and to fundamentally admit they'll revoke your access at any time purely on whimsy.

but like its sibling cryptocurrency and its parent blockchain, NFT is a solution in search of problems. nobody on planet earth can show you one successful application of blockchain to anything that didn't manifestly make it worse. creating the ideal situation where it could be the ideal solution is also retarded, but these are people who paradoxically believe corporations should be able to tell us how to 'be better'.

To be fair, I was a malding asshole for a long time. You chill out in your 30s usually, although that’s about how old they are so maybe not.

Edit: also please no NFT derails, mainly because I find the entire topic of NFTs to be even more boring than blockchain discussions.
