Did you want details? I don't automatically assume that just because it mattered to me that suddenly it matters to everyone. He isn't exactly "hot" on the list of lolcows in this category.
It was in this case; before the dude came out of retirement with Drakengard 3 he had gone out on a decidedly chill high note (no crazy bullshit about trans-nigger gendervoid reindeerkin or the like). Then he decided to return....And now he's lecturing people in a screenshot LP about casual racism toward Japanese sexual moires.
OK....Wait a sec for me to type it up without sounding like a spastic- this happened several months ago, alright?

So, I had been a fan this dude for a while...Especially since he does screenshot LPs and frankly, those are the only ones that I don't find unbelievably obnoxious. He also seemed really level-headed and chill; whatever his personal politics were, he kept 'em pretty much out of his work. I discovered him through his LP on Chrono Cross (which did a fairly good job of convincing me never to buy it, even though I had loved Trigger to death). My affection for him only deepened after reading the Drakengard LPs, and I'm pretty sure Neir turned me into a full-blown fanboy.
I was sad when I learned he had retired, particularly since it was rather sudden, in the middle of an LP on Final Fantasy X to which he had given his usual brand of skewering in flawless form. And when I learned he'd be back in business for at least Drakengard 3, I was overjoyed. Unfortunately around this time I started eagerly watching his twitter and noticed something: the dude had turned preachy. Like, really really super preachy. Horribly self-righteous even. He was not at all the Id from yesteryear. In fact as I finally started reading his Drakengard 3 LP, I realized he was increasingly sounding like he'd swallowed SocJus kool-aid. Continuing further on through his Drakengard 3 odyssey it soon became clear that, whatever awesome dude he had been, he was just another regressive leftist now. I finished the LP, but I can't say I really enjoyed it after realizing what a SJW cheerleader I was dealing with. Now to give the guy some credit- he kept that shit out of the LP. Most of his craziness was twitter-based. And because of that, I figured I'd still give him a chance when he said he'd finish his long-lost Final Fantasy X LP. I mean, if he still had any of the old piss and vinegar left then surely that pretentious pile of shit would bring it out of him, right?
Nope. Not at all! You could tell, he was just going through the motions and phoning in the remainder of the LP. Even worse, when he uploaded it to the LP Archive he admitted he'd "edited" earlier parts of it to be less "unfunny" (read: offensive) at the suggestion of several of the fucking faggots at SA. At that point I seriously considered not bothering with any more of his content, especially now that I was going to have to deal with his newly found bullshit life philosophy in the Cult of SocJus (you'll see why I specifically call it that in a minute). But....Then the impossible happened: they let Yoko Taro make another Neir.
Neir is....Somewhat special to me. I'll just leave it at that, because you're not all here to listen to me tell you about feels and depression and all that jazz. Suffice it to say if there was one thing in the universe that could get me back to read one more Id LP now, that would've been it. And so with a heavy heart, I decided I'd give this insecure weirdo one last chance to not fuck it all up and be a douche. I did not have to wait long to be disappointed.
A few chapters in was all it took for him to go off on a tangent on casual racism against those poor Japs and their deranged pornographic/sexual habits. It should've been classic ID material: earth was apparently invaded by aliens after suffering a humanity-destroying apocalypse, and now several thousand years later you find their dead corpses (loooooong story) and....
They're shaped like giant penises. No really: big rubbery grey dongers, with stupid wide frog mouths and eyes (and tentacles for appendages). Old Id would've had a goddamned field day with shit like this. You know what SocJus Id had to say? How he didn't need any "Oh Japan.....You delightful little socially repressed perverts...." casual racism in this thread, thank you very much! I couldn't believe it. I almost stopped reading right then and there. But stupid me was suffering his sunk-cost fallacy and thought "Well, I've been a moron and stuck it out this far....How much worse can it get, right?" As it turns out, when you ask that, god really hates you and immediately sets about re-arranging the cosmos in such a way that it will, in fact, become worse.
In another few chapters he started it up again, this time with a tangent on how people who complain about censorship in videogames secretly hate women and spend all their days harassing them and making their lives a living hell. No, that does not make anymore sense in context! All the context I got, you just got. It was completely out of left field for me, so I decided I'd had enough of this bullshit. I signed into my Youtube account I never fucking use (because Youtube as a Google service is goddamned awful and why would I ever?) and decided I'd let him know exactly what I thought of his shitty "new direction", or whatever the hell he wanted to call it.
It went very poorly. I decided to leave a comment on one of his chapter videos (which was already set to display a comment containing further bullshit on how apparently not agreeing with localization decisions means I also don't believe in women being allowed to use the internet, period), which unfortunately have all been going unlisted as of late. I also concluded that the only way he'd respond at all- rather than simply remaining mute and setting the video to disabled comments- was if I displayed a little more aggression in my posting style. For my trouble, I got all of about one paragraph total from the guy I actually gave a nickel-plated fuck about, and nearly an entire goddamned page of borderline-cult garbage from the entire rest of that thread on SA. Mostly on how I hated women, was a Nazi, hadn't used a word right (OK, that was justified), was a goon is disguise, was using a burner account, etc. Id's few comment made even less fucking sense, and essentially said I was a coward for not using my "real" Youtube account and that I could fuck off into the sun (he said this after every damn post, as if it were his 'amen'). On twitter he was even crazier, saying that he wasn't any different (while simultaneously one of his friends said he wasn't different, simply better- wtf?), and that people shouldn't ever meet their heroes. Then he got virtual pussy points with his wife, apparently.
Did any of that make any more sense to you guys? Because I don't even really know what the hell happened to get that kind of outcome.
