The whole "Many people may hate me but that doesn't mean everyone does" line as well as his slight change in demeanor increases my suspicion that Lucas has received some kind of counselling recently. Perspective-finding is a common CBT technique for those with depression and social anxiety. Lucas lacks the smarts or introspection to use that technique himself.
As you mentioned however, he still remains detached from reality. I don't think any counselor would dare challenge his delusions. It'd open up a can of worms from a therapy perspective.
The Wern has made attempts to compartmentalize his online life from his real one - perhaps more so than he ever has. I think he would ruin his idea of an online persona (which is still a shitty one) if he admitted that he'd received help recently.
Not that it matters.. he'll go back to how he was eventually.

Maybe thats it. I just noticed that his rambling is becoming less "energetic" and hes not posting as frequently, so maybe the sleep deprivation is getting to him or hes winding down somehow.

Well the energy thing could be down to a few possibilities:
- His typical bipolar flux shifting into low gear
- Being placed on sedatives
- His diabetes being controlled (or shifting heavily out of control)
- Some kind of psychiatric intervention
- The *threat* of some kind of psychiatric intervention
- A genuine transition into a more mindful, mature Lucas
When it comes to his likes/dislikes thing, that's him regressing into his 12-year old state. Although that tends to be one of his less destructive coping mechanisms.
My prediction, and I think many here will agree, is that Lucas is at the edge of a colossal depressive episode on account of his recent mania and lingering 40th.

If he’s hitting the depression point he might be more inclined to take meds. A few people I know stop taking meds when they feel better and then don’t start again until they swing back into depression, because depression sucks a lot more than being manic (which some people really like).

That's the typical thing with cows like Lucas. He's a bone idle individual. We're talking about a person who thinks that walking for an hour a day will not only make him thinner, but will offset his massive calorie intake. He's a hedonist who only lives to give himself pleasure and seeks to minimize any arduous work or discomfort.
This laziness extends to his mental health. He will be happy to cruise along during his manic phases, despite having full insight into the fact he has bipolar. He'll groove off the buzz of it rather than viewing it as part of his issue and doing anything. Mania makes him feel good, after all..
Depression, on the other hand, doesn't feel nice. Pleasure-seeking Lucas would be far more ready to seek aid for his depressive episodes rather than the manic ones. By 'seeking aid' I believe he would be looking for passive ways of feeling better, as opposed to actively engaging with any form of self-maintenance. He'll rock up to his physician and say "I think it's time I went on my meds again" and they'll be more than happy to oblige. The minute he's feeling less depressed, his engagement with mental health services will cease once more.

That's one thing that makes Lucas such a good cow. Although, it is glaringly obvious that Lucas is a ragman hobo. He thinks or likes to act like he is doing great and everyone else is the problem. Eating at homeless shelters, being unemployed, collecting welfare, wearing pajama pants in public, living in a hovel with no bathroom.
To Lucas all of this is fine. Sure, he would love to be rich and have more given to him, but he is doing great if you ask him. He just needs a girl friend between the ages of 18-24. The oligarchy, bigots, grey beards, flatbills, and all the rampant agephobia have been preventing this. To Lucas those are the only reasons he doesn't have a girlfriend.

That and the fact that he seems bound and determined to photograph himself in the ugliest, most disgusting, most obviously indicative of mental instability poses of ANY lolcow.
Don't get me wrong; there are arguably more ugly cows, ones that are more distorted in their physiognomy. MilknMuffins comes to mind, or the troon with the fivehead and the poop predilection. Slingblade is a toothless, sway-backed toad. OPL is no prize. There is competition.
But most of these other monstrosities STILL wouldn't film themselves rubbing their filthy hair into a festering grease spot in the wall behind their "bed", or shirtless and greasy with an extended zoom into one scabby, hairy nipple, or lying upside down, covered with clumps of chicken fat and luxuriously stroking their unshaven jowls and wattle.
Lucas seems not only convinced of his own sex appeal, but unable to see how he comes across to others. One of the best examples was the vid where he attempts to lip synch NIN's 'Piggy'... He enacts so many bizarre, grotesque, and frankly nauseating facial contortions that it's a mystery why he posts these at all; they make him seem demented and hideous, which he, of course, is.
Is this part of his mental issues? This inability to see how others will perceive him?

I don’t think Lucas genuinely thinks he is attractive. There’s that video where he’s grooming himself (not grooming a child for a change) and using the camera as a mirror. He physically looks pained as he examines himself. Like, his eyes show more emotion and despair than any of his other videos.

mania does lead to an overinflated sense of self confidence, but I think he realizes he’s not attractive. He probably just doesn’t want to acknowledge it because it’s legitimately all his fault- if he’d clean up and get down to a reasonable weight, he still might not be attractive but he’d be a pretty nondescript, run of the mill 40 year old.

I gave a little cross-reference between what I'd been collecting vs. what is currently on the channel, and it would appear Lucas is dumb enough to stand behind his words - pretty much all of what he's posted has not been removed, and that which has been appears mostly to be on Youtube's side because they had scam titles with promises of money.
