2. Even if he managed to get someone on Craigslist to respond to an ad for a roommate (or got a response from someone he contacted about their ad), they'd ghost him or refuse him the second they googled his name, let alone ran a proper background check or credit check.

3. He has no GED and no relevant work experience to make up for lack of a GED; he's been out of the workforce for at least 20 years. That plus his age would put him at a severe disadvantage even if he didn't have a host of mental illness and health issues he refuses to treat. There is a difference between "can't afford to treat" and "willingly refuses to treat" and Lucas is 100% the latter. He CAN afford treatment, the state pays for it, he just refuses to get it and stick with it. He'd be a liability for every employer based on that alone.
