Psychopathy Lucas claims is one of the symptoms of bipolar so if he goes out to do charity for the homeless and they are getting food isn’t that a way to treat bipolar since that’s empathy and not psychopathy lol Lucas logic. Empathy is a way to reduce bipolar because bipolar makes him a psycho according to him.
Lucas loves creating these binary dualities. Where did he ever get the idea that empathy was the opposite of psychopathy? His previous decision that empathy and narcissism were polar opposites was a little bit more correct, I would think.
But I don't think it says anywhere that a psychopath can't be empathetic. Particularly when the psychopath is using these feigned displays of empathy to try to trick people into thinking that he's a successful mate.
I've heard that psychopaths can be very good at conning people, especially charismatic psychopaths. I believe this was one of the qualities associated with Ted Bundy? Not sure about that.
But essentially, Lucas is laying bare his guile here. He's essentially telling us that he's doing something to try to counteract the fact that he's been called a psychopath, and in doing so is proving that he has psychopathic tendencies, at least in a micro-episodic sense, by trying to manipulate people towards him. A genuine display of empathy, if there is even such a thing, is not done with ulterior motives.
Completely separate from this is the idea that we all know Lucas's "donations to homeless people" are little more than attraction signs in and of themselves.
Police in Olympia recognized this, and Lucas was repeatedly sanctioned for his chocolate bars and soda drops, attached to a note telling women to look him up.
Everything you need to know about Lucas's supposed empathic donations comes in his response to people taking this food, and not contacting him.
He wrote A few Facebook posts mentioning that it upset him greatly when he would watch from a distance and see people take the candy, but never contact him.
If these donations were genuinely empathic, and intended for the good of the homeless, why would people using the nutrition that he had provided bother him?
Obviously, because the purpose was NEVER to give food to the homeless, it was to try to get Lucas a girlfriend.
The only question for me, is how much Lucas believes his own press. I think that he's repeated the idea that he's empathic and generous so often, that he genuinely does believe it.
I also think it's a testament to his stupidity that the idea of his guile and conning with donations attached to attraction notes doesn't bother him in the least... contradicting ideas can exist within his brain without causing him the slightest bit of distress.
This is emblematic of the disorder he experiences.
Lucas is a mass of obvious contradictions, and people remark all the time how out of proportion his smugness and level of ego seems, and for quite a while I thought it was just an act, that Lucas was putting on a brave face.
I don't think so anymore. I think Lucas really does believe all the ego stroking lies that he tells himself, and he really does see himself as a victim of circumstance.
This doesn't make him any less transparent to the world, however.
