Stop trying to make #MagicGate happen Jeremy, it's not going to happen. Just stop, it's done.

He actually answered this question by saying "protest in any way you feel acceptable, don't abandon your local game stores".

The truth comes out. She's putting a stop to cosplay for the most part because she got into nursing school and can pay for it. Not because of MTG, not because of Jeremy being a jerk, because of school.

Also: Jeremy stated on the Undoomed live stream that suing to get his money back from magic online would be stupid. Spend $50,000 in order to get back $1,000. He said if there were another good reason to sue (i.e. a banning for posting pepe memes), that he would maybe start crowdfunding for that...but it would take an insane amount of cash to go up against Hasbro.

Free advice from someone who saw this coming a while ago.

Before I begin: there absolutely has been problems with inclusivity on a player level; that's self explanatory - every fucking hobby has its retards.

That's not the fucking issue. The problem here is a bunch of ideologues with minimal oversight being able to fucking indefinitely kick someone out of everything remotely "official" about a hobby without any recourse. This includes shit like basic tournaments at hobby shops. Mostly for shit that has nothing the fuck to do with said hobby. These aren't people who were drunk and disorderly at an event, these aren't even those asshats who didn't shower for a month before going to the event so they'd smell like Nurgle's fetid ballsack. This is for mean words, said completley out-of-context, on Social Media accounts, and at the same time, flat-out ignoring "favored" accounts who can freely violate that same rule as much as they want against the right people.

That is fucking unacceptable.

If you care about fucking any traditional game made by Wizards of the Coast in the slightest, I'm sorry.

WOTC has faced steady infiltration, along with much of traditional gaming, for almost a decade, and courtesy of mandated diversity and rampant cronyism, they now de-facto control major aspects of the company, and they don't care if they tank said company in the process. Magic is their wheelhouse, but they've steadily made inroads to D&D as well. Thankfully the only official events that are D&D-related are RPGA shit, and fucking no one has ever had any fondness for that shit.

Indeed, a huge swath of traditional gaming is infected similarly. Take a look at Jake Alley's thread and you'll see his repeated attempts to send his resume to Paizo, which now repeatedly posts, unironically, that they want nonwhite, non-male applicants (which, I acknowledge, is fucking hilarious considering Jake Alley, but I digress). It's now at the point where Paizo's project manager is someone who openly admits she hates Role-Playing Games.

The TL;DR is that increasingly, traditional gaming has become infected with these losers. It's depressing as fuck, too, because you're already seeing them tone-police on almost every angle, from the most fucking zero-effort (complaining about misogynistic art, etc) to the most fucking ridiculous (arguing we should ban players for life for mean words outside of the hobby). These people control adminship of most official communities, they control the social media presence of many of these communities, and through sheer Autism, they can drown out even the spergs who love traditional gaming (which is something worthy of a lifetime achievement award, but again, I dirgess). They don't care about the hobby, financial success, or even gaming as a whole - they care about power, and using that power to control people. Think of a bunch of assholes with Vade syndrome and you're starting to grasp why they've become so hated.

Self-made fun police have always existed within these hobbies - they existed in D&D during the moral panic period (see also: Lorraine Williams, who similarly hated the customer-base and was willing to fuck over the entire hobby for the sake of ego), they existed within Magic during the early editions, and they always, without exception, eventually fuck up with the force of a thermonuclear device, and in so doing, set themselves up to be purged.

And that's the good news: This shit is unsustainable. They always push too hard and they always, without exception, catch blastback, and in trying to cope with said blastback, fuck up it all up to competition standards. The only question is how much damage they cause before they get blasted out of the fucking hobby, and how much WOTC is willing to lose before it purges the lot of them, because these people actively damage the brand and cost the company money down the line.

If you want to hasten their fall, send a few polite-but-firm IRL letters to WOTC and explain you won't support their company if they keep supporting measures like this. Wizards will take action eventually because they exist to make money, and their ability to do so is based on making a product their consumers want to fucking buy. If fewer people buy into the hobby, WOTC will take notice. Good ol' capitalism to the rescue again.

Also, in regards to WOTC, there have been rumors that they go after people that draw Rule 34 of Magic characters. I don't recall many other examples of companies going after people that do that, aside from obvious things such as people drawing porn of underaged characters, or people attempting to monetize that porn.

The only one I can think of is Brianna Wu.

Revolution 60 has a stipulation in its EULA that you're not allowed to draw porn of its characters.

Lol that seems to me like Wu wanting Rev60 to have rule 34 drawings and trying to get it all reverse-psychology like.

Jeremy is too much of a sperg to root for in this situation. Endorsing people who review bomb small businesses on his behalf is pathetic, and he's clearly desperate for #Magicgate, even though it's not happening. Hopefully the kekistani crowd finds something new to reee about, so this guy can go back to being a middling Magic personality.

Agreed. I can agree with him that Travis Woo's ban was bullshit, but Jeremy's is looking more and more justified each day he keeps pressing the issue.
