He only had himself to blame for the macing incident but that didn't stop him from threatening to report the employee he pepper sprayed. In theory debt collectors who know the funds they're levying on are SS are supposed to not do it. In practice, this is Portfolio Recovery Associates, one of the scummiest operations in the biz that is huge. Unlike some of the shittier tiny debt racketeers who just change names and resurface under another corporation when they get caught, PRA stays just within the boundaries that don't get them fined (too much) or shut down.

I have no doubts they'd "accidentally" levy on tard bucks then play innocent if they got called out on it.

Small correction, but a leaked call actually revealed it was a member of the Watchmen who encouraged Chris to taze himself, and Caden was the only one who tried to talk him out of it. Naught initially leaked a segment of the call out of context to try to separate Chris from Praetor.

If something like this were to ever happen I’d have a hearty chuckle whilst shaking my head because not only is it possible for the conniving Praetor to plant such a dark idea into Chris’ head but it they’d be foolish not to if they want to open up 14 Blc historical museum and gift shop.

This is purely speculation but reading through the lines of this kid's responses, it sort of sounds like he and Chris have been having some sort of jailhouse romance or something.

He talks with a certain level of intimacy that seems to go beyond just business sense.

Again, speculation, but it could be very possible that he tries to smuggle Chris into his parent's basement and hide him in the crawl space when they're come downstairs to the laundry.

Maybe carry him down leftovers, cuz you got to know Caden probably lives at home.

Chris's predictions of the future are based on Chris's experience in the past. Chris's past doesn't exist any more. When he gets out it's going to be a completely different world and none of the things that used to prop him up and enable him will be there any more. I'm not a legal or gun expert but I spent a few minutes googling. I think Chris would not be able to purchase a gun legally in Virginia. Even if it is a private party transaction, an FFL (federal firearm licensee) must be involved to run the background check. The FFL would also have Chris fill out a 4473 form. This form has a list of questions, and if you answer "yes" to them you are prohibited from receiving or possessing the firearm. Here are five potentially relevant questions from the 4473:

d. Are you under indictment or information in any court for a felony, or any other crime for which the judge could imprison you for more than one year, or are you a current member of the military who has been charged with violation(s) of the Uniform Code of Military Justice and whose charge(s) have been referred to a general court-martial?
e. Have you ever been convicted in any court, including a military court, of a felony, or any other crime for which the judge could have imprisoned you for more than one year, even if you received a shorter sentence including probation?

h. Have you ever been adjudicated as a mental defective OR have you ever been committed to a mental institution?

j. Are you subject to a court order, including a Military Protection Order issued by a military judge or magistrate, restraining you from harassing, stalking, or threatening your child or an intimate partner or child of such partner?
k. Have you ever been convicted in any court of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence, or are you or have you ever been a member of the military and been convicted of a crime that included, as an element, the use of force against a person as identified in the instructions?

If Chris chooses to buy a gun illegally, there are some really cheap guns out there. He might be able to afford a Hi-Point handgun for around the price of an Optimus Prime Lego set, but Optimus would almost certainly take priority. Maybe he could go to a gun show in a state with more lax gun laws than Virginia, like neighboring West Virginia, and do a private transaction without needing an FFL. Imagine being the guy that gets shot by Chris's $150 Yeet Cannon.

There is another option. Chris could skirt the law by buying the parts for a gun plus an 80% lower and a jig and whatever other tools are required, and then build the gun himself. This is typically done with AR-15 style rifles, but there are Glock pistol lowers available as well. This requires some degree of planning and is a little more difficult than building a Lego set, and is more expensive than the cheap handguns I was thinking about so I don't think Chris would be able to pull it off. He does like customizing his things though, and MLP grips are an option!
