I will point out that the game DOES look better than the original Alphas. That isn't saying much, but they at least got a decent lighting engine. I'm going to do what I did for Arc Raiders and play the beta before I make any decisions, since I did like Destiny's gunplay, but the art direction for the game leaves much to be desired

still on the fence over the art theft thing tho. they had a style and it just turned out they coopted it from somebody else all along.
If you trust Bungie (which yeah you shouldn't) they apparently settled it with the artist of the assets and got rid of them in the game so.

The Artist even says so

Still scummy though yeah

Like here's something they uploaded and it just looks so much better than the alphas they had before.

The videos talking about ambient noise but like, the graphics look a lot better than when the game was first revealed. The gun models are still hot ass.

Operator Drewski was invited to play early and posted his thoughts. I have no idea who he is but his video gives some good insight into the updated build of the game, it's about an hour of updated live gameplay

Bro, what do you mean you don't like tranny mannequin with a liberty spike mullet hair-do?
Yeah Her and the Asasassin, and Triage one are the worst looking Shells

but also the stark difference between how they looked when the game was announced to now is kind of a good example that the game's art did improve, even if whoever designed some of these shells should be shot.

Some of the shells look decent, though

Vanda: 1771738446589.png

Vandal, Assassin and Triage are probably the three overall worst-looking ones.

Forgot this game existed I thought it came out and failed already till I saw this thread.
Hoo boy concord 3 so soon?
It's going to entirely depend on how the beta does. a good chunk of Destiny's PVP community will try the game out on principle, and there are people from other extraction shooters like Hunt, Tarkov and Arc Raiders that will try it as well.

If the game has Bungie's good gunplay it could find a decent niche. if it launches with the usual bungie problems it'll probably die a slow painful death, but I don't think it'll die as fast as Concord/Highguard. I think it'll die like Halo Infinite did.

Halo Infinite maxed out at 270k players on steam when it released and then it dived over the course of six months until it only had about 6,000 players. Season 2 for the MP came out in May 2022 and it spiked the player base to 20,000 but it died back down to an 8,000-6,000 average player count by the end of May.

Season 3 in March of 2023 saw it go up to 12,000 and then die back down to 8,000 after like 6 days. Season 4 had 8,000 players max and Season 5 spiked to 18k only for it to die back to the 8,000s after a month.

The game then started bleeding players slowly over the next three years until we get to today where it only has 3k as it's 24 hour peak.

Mind you I'm not saying the game will max out at like 200k players but I think whatever player base it has will slowly bleed away instead of instantly drop off if the game is fun but bungie drops the ball somehow

But I could be wrong and It's player's count could drop like a rock after like a week.

Nightmare TTK holy shit. Especially for a game where you lose progress by dying.
The first clip is the player being shot at by literally two pixels, dying to two shots, and i think the longest kill afterwards was 3 seconds after shooting started.
Any clip ive seen of people actually getting to cover they were already running in that direction anyway. I guess it's a first person shooter because if you're not the first person shooting you might as well give up.

I'm more inclined to believe the troon that was stolen from had a cry session with the Troon Brigade on development and a check of 100k was paid to the troon that was stolen from.
I don't really care either way, the game wouldn't look better had they not stolen...

Yeah it's obvious they were paid off, doesn't change the fact that they stole the aesthetic and bungie has a history of stealing art from their own fanbase. But none of that is as egregious as the mass content creator shill campaign they have going on right now. At this point I am hoping the game fails purely so that it lead to another cancerous trends like the MTX Bungie introduced into PvE multiplayer games.

The beta is going to be available on consoles so I'm gonna give it a go, no reason not to. Might mean I have to delete Highguard to make space though...am I ready to say goodbye?

You haven't played Tarkov if you think Marathon's TTK is too fast. Tarkov's TTK is literally "if you get shot in the head you lose" levels of bullshit.

Marathon from what I've been seeing seems fine, the TTK is a little slower than Hunt Showdowns. (Hunt's TTK is pretty fast suprisingly, one shot to the head at effective ranges and two shots to the body). But again that's just from observation, watching a TTK is entirely different from playing it, so you'll probably see me bitching about the TTK on friday during the beta

I'm surprised it's actually shipping but seeing this dissociative tranny aesthetic put in front of an extraction shooter audience should have some interesting reactions.

It's going to be camping snooze fest for sure. In the alpha back in may it was longer, closer to apex legends ttk. They maybe got a lot of complains so they gradually reduced it, or it's just because we are seeing the endgame guns being into play here. I wonder how munch they fixed the early game when everyone is forced to play with bad guns, since that was very bad, worst out of any extraction shooter even.

Keep in mind that I'm going off second hand knowledge but apparently they made it so enemies respawn and will actively hunt you down if they're near enough to hear you or if you stay in place for to long so I don't think you can actually camp all that effectively

But again I could be talking out of my ass

I don't know how munch they changed the ai behaviour but yes, they do respawn. The problem is that the invisibility guy deaggros the ai with the invisibility so he can go in and out without being heard or seen. There's also the "free kit" character who has the ability to be friendly with the ai, so he can also rat.
