Bro probably lives like a real life No Limit album cover.
He's probably sleeping on a mattress stuffed daily with $100 bills delivered fresh right from the Treasury presses and the old bills dumped in a pile and burned just so he can watch how pretty the flames are but I sure as shit don't begrudge him that given what he's done for gaming.

i dread for my future children for missing the golden age of steam, once gabeN passes, things will become worse, much, much worse.

its almost 6PM on the west coast Friday night in the US

All the Marathon chads are out smashing box and drinking Moet; they'll log on in the morning when they're hungover. Die mad about it, gamer chud.
This is the exact reason I never tried it. Saw it and thought 'oh a redhead, may give this game a tr- oh she's ugly and her face is fat for literally no reason.'
The first Horizon game is still worth playing, I'd say. The only really annoying thing about it is you need to constantly swap your loadout because you get limited slots but need specific weapons to fight certain enemies optimally.

I hoped they'd fix this in the sequel, and they did, but unfortunately they fixed it by making all the weapons shit and nerfing the weak point system which took away the only USP the game had, leaving you with another generic open world snorefest that massively overstays its welcome.

And for some reason Sony remain determined to make Horizon their flagship IP.

Or more relevant to Bungie and Halo, when motherfucking Breaking Benjamin starts playing when you get to the end of Gravemind in Halo 2.

We truly didn't know how good we had it.
Don't forget Incubus earlier in the game.

He gets away with, doing nothing. And he wins every time.
I wouldn't mind if he put on that much swag IRL. He's earned the right to, unlike a rapper.
Wait, why are we sucking this guy's cock? He's the biggest reason "GaaS" games and their sins (lootboxes, battlepasses, focus on esports, etc) became a popular business model for gaming companies. Valve is making yet another live-service game and nobody gives a shit, but when Sony does it, everyone loses their minds.

valve doesn't charge me 10$/mo to use internet on my fucking pc like sony does with their faggot console.

I got two teenagers. My oldest found her love of Sonic through my shield years ago that had all the Sonic roms on it.
I don't think this is the thread for it and im not sure we have one, but emulating on a Pi 4/5 will get you up to N64 / PS1 era.
Beyond that you need a PC / steamdeck or like you said your shield.

For the pi retropie is the way to go for emulating on oldware.

Valve is a platform first, a hardware manufacturer second and a developer a very distant third. Unless it's Half Life 3 no one gives a shit what games they put out.

Conversely, Sony has spent 2 console generations either completely ignoring or ruining the IPs people love while stubbornly shitting out an endless parade of awful games nobody wants that die within months. And that's not even getting into the great studios they've either closed down or shackled to working on their GaaS shit.

This isn't even apples and oranges, it's skinning your elbow versus waking up inside one of Jigsaw's contraptions.
Any recommended titles for the kids?
The original Spyro 1-3 and Tony Hawk 1-2 are still brilliant. If you can get PS2 games working Ratchet & Clank 2 and 3 are both 10/10, so is the first Jak & Daxter.

If i was bungie i would be pretty worried right about now. Has a single game of this kind, no matter how good or bland, actually survived even a short time in the last few years?

Man, i sure called this one. I'm sure a LOT of people did to be fair.

Looking at the budget and finding it hard to imagine how some kind of scam or money games aren't involved. You spent ~$200-$250 million on a fucking multiplayer shooter?! WAT
But in this context.. ouch lol

Plus i don't like that he basically established an semi-exclusive gate over the one platform that was un-gatekept!
The medium/industry and platform is going to suffer going forward.

That's not exclusive to steam or playstation tho. As I munch as I wanted Steam Deck to change this shitty standard, that didn't happen and Xbox/Nintendo still have subsription fees to play online. On the pc side, there weren't such fees for games outside Steam unless the game itself was subscription-based like WoW.

What's funny that a basic feature like adding friends on steam wasn't available until you added 5 dollars to your wallet or made a direct purchase on steam. I don't know if this still true.

Valve, like Sony, are trying to find new ways of printing money, obvisously they are trying in different directions and Valve is doing it in a far more compentent way. Their moneymaker games are constantly being updated and the new game is being developed at a record speed for Valve time, all things considered they still are a developer first and hardware manufacturing dead last.

Valve did that too, they ruined tf2 to make it "competitive" and left it to get completely infested with cheaters, ignored half-life until that they did one vr exclusive episode and then still continue ignoring it, portal and left4dead are still being ignored. They did this in favour of shit like Artifact, a shitty over-monetised card game that they hyped it so munch that it was the Highguard of it's time.

That's because of greed, their games would've been totally fine being exclusive to their shitty launchers but they had to get just one more potential buyer on Steam. A lot of these games still require to download their shitty launcher and create an account on their platform, so Steam basically acts like a launcher for launchers instead of games. If AAA and AA games stayed exclusive, Steam probably would've been known as a platform for porn games or indie games, Valve's games aside.

Oh boy... Oh God....
i'd rather have a kid with a passing interest on mario than sonic or worse, megaman.

i don't give two flying fucks about nigtendo or xjeet, if valve goes that faggot path they will get shat on alongside the other niggers, especially sony and their gay psplus shite, sony niggers need to be mocked for that, not only you have to pay for you internet but you also have to pay for the ability to use internet on the shitty console you already paid for, it's beyond pathetic.

It's because your average Valvedrone is mentally stuck in 2007 right after the release of the Orange Box and refuses to move on. Did you know they made Half-Life 2 which was revolutionary at the time?
It's because of Steam and memes, Valve fans feel betrayed because of how Valve handles their games, tf2 is a great example, even counter-strike players generally prefer the CSGO version and lets not forget the other ips that they ignore.

My point was that subscription fees wasn't an issue before or after Steam became popular on PC, it's a console wide issue not just Sony's.
