nope, bungo is genuinely that prideful and retarded.I think MTX sales are so abysmal they can't go F2P because the game would be making absolutely nothing.

Tarky kinda does a similar thing with co-op extracts, though the Marathon equivalent would be a runner extracting with a rook. In any case it's not bad per-se; if it runs intentionally in conflict with PvP objectives then there's always going to be that tension about never being quite sure you're being walked to extract just to be shot in the back of the head for easy loot. As long as they don't make it strictly better in every way then great. If it's a sidegrade that offers its own thing then even better.Doesn't this go against the entire spirit of the genre? Maybe they're hoping this will draw in more casuals if they create an incentive to discourage such TAHXIC behaviour.
I still follow the discussion from time to time, but I’ve moved on to talk about the game elsewhere. This place is great if you just want to circle jerk the lower player count and pat yourself on the back with a bunch of Destiny and Single player gamers. There just isn't anything else to say here that's been already said a thousand times.I'm kinda sad he ran off, I did appreciate someone relating their experiences, especially since it confirmed that I was right to skip out. He just made the all too common mistake of taking it personal when his media of choice was criticized, started attacking other people instead of saying "it's okay if you don't like it but it appeals to me," and then bailing when he couldn't handle the bantz. Many such cases.
Hahahaha! Oh god it's going to be a fucking disaster! I love how they just threw that little nugget in there as a plain ol' bullet point. Y'know, like "bug #1483: possible crash on clients with 16GB when exiting matchmaking lobby after waiting more than 30 seconds (sev: major); bug #1958: misspelled label on About... panel in main menu (sev: medium); bug #24: game is not fun (sev: minor)" on some daily fuckin' sprint task list or something. "A problem that's persisted throughout its development" indeed. Sounds like they've flagged bug #24 "wontfix" and closed it, too.Genius move, Sony. Now these 2 games will cannibalize each other.

Playtesters have found the game “not fun” which is a problem that’s persisted throughout its development

i mean marathon hasn't updated anything either, all they are banking is on the silly raid thing that has a item level requirement an shieet.I still follow the discussion from time to time, but I’ve moved on to talk about the game elsewhere. They’ve been updating the game basically every week, but you wouldn’t know it because nobody here actually talks about the game itself. This thread is little more than a player count tracker and you’re not going to get much beyond that.i mean marathon hasn't updated anything either, all they are banking is on the silly raid thing that has a item level requirement an shieet.
hey, at least the kultur war faggots coped and sneeded at marathong for not "flopping" in the estimated time they wanted and now they are ignoring it.
but you wouldn’t know it because nobody here actually talks about the game itself.
You guys gotta be nicer to this dude, if it keeps going he'll just make a Marathon 2026 Appreciation thread and stop coming here. What else can you expect from this thread?
The two people playing it being @creaturestorm and The Burnt PeanutMarathon is gay, and so are people that play it
I mean, the mode removes the risk/reward aspect, which is the core of extraction shooters. You said it yourself, you spawn in with the same gear as everyone else, just like in a battle royale. It's like playing poker but max bet is always one dollar and not out of your own pocket. The mode also proves that the game failed from a balance standpoint, game design even, which begs the question what was the director thinking adding unfun shit like thermals and invisibility in the game?Someone earlier tried to call it a battle royale mode, which is just flat out wrong. What else can you expect from this thread? Anyways, One of the bigger recent changes is something much closer to a “zero to hero” mode, Tarkov players will immediately get what that means.
The twist is you’re not just showing up with a free kit, but everyone else is too. So the chances of getting killed by a thermal sniper or completely rolled by a stacked team with end game gear are basically zero.
Welcome back! I missed you, now I get to actually know what's going on with the game. Nice little zinger there too. Suffah single (as in virginal, unmarried and friendless lol lolol alone) player gamerinos! They've been doing more experimentation with Duo modes for people who cant find friends.
Their first party developers are certainly incapable of making anything that isn't a cinematic, third-person action game.
Then an extraction shooter comes along (Arc Raiders) and sells 14 million copies. I wonder why.Gamers don't want more extraction shooters.

Pretty sure Arc Raiders already made their money and then some, they don't have the same concerns Bungie does lolArc Raiders isn't capable of sustaining a corporation spending what Sony has spent on Marathon.
But for every 1 extraction shooter that manages to find its niche there's 20 more that instantly fail.
It's like how many CoD or Halo killers came out only to instantly crash and burn.
The market can't support a bunch of extraction shooters propped up by cash shops for skins.
(I'd also argue Arc Raiders is a very casual friendly extraction shooter with some unique ideas making it the only/first extraction shooter that wasn't attracting Tarkov style sweats and that's part of why it succeeded). Though it's clear players want more PvE extraction shooter and no dev has currently really gone all in on that, besides maybe Grey Zone Warfare having a dedicated mode.
Either way it's like going 'the masses yearn for more hero shooters' when if you aren't Overwatch or Marvel Slop you're DOA because literally nobody cares.
See also: nobody wants a MOBA that isn't League.
Isn't Deadlock a MOBA and it is quite popular? Btw pretty sure that Riot games is already making an own Deadlock copySee also: nobody wants a MOBA that isn't League.
Given that Marathon is not successful on consoles, no, they are not gonna to cannibalize each otherGenius move, Sony. Now these 2 games will cannibalize each other.
