I like the look of Fire Peach, honestly.

Maybe I'm just happy to see Peach and Mario actually go traveling together as such. Like it's somewhat implied in some of the games it does happen, but I don't think it was even a multiplayer option. Peach can legit take care of herself when it calls for it, it's just in a more feminine way than your typical girlboss attitude. (The one Toad made me inwardly cringe, that's clearly some team member's kid they put in to fill a minor role for sure, rarely ever goes well.)
Mario not being good at the platforming and being heroic makes sense for an isekai plot they're absolutely going for. He's gotta grow into it, get used to the world and all that. Hopefully he's not too much of a bumbling idiot in that regard, is all I'm asking for. The Cheep-Cheep moment was great, that's the kind of stuff I wanna see more of.
Charlie Day as Luigi put the dopiest smile on my face (the Donkey Kong scene was second). It sucks the dialogue is still the same stupid Hollywood meta-schlock, but he somehow makes it work in that scene. We just need more context for the scene, mind you, but there's promise. I second the Kiwi who said it actually looks like a video game movie for once, I think that's its biggest appeal currently.
So yeah, gonna go see it. Was going to anyway because my baby brother loves Mario, was just kinda hoping it
was this year instead of next year but whatever. Think Nintendo tard-wrangled Illumination enough to keep them from pulling their cut-corners shit, gonna be intriguing to see the budget for this.
