Mass Effect (4?) - N7 Day

ME:A felt like a remake of ME1 but for modern audiences (zero worldbuilding, lore rape, dumb characters and tumblr fanfic level of writing).
That said, I wish the franchise was more like ME1 than ME2 and 3. Sure, ME1 had some issues but they could have fixed them in a sequel instead of removing them entirely (planet exploration, loadout and gear customization for Shepard and his/her crew, inventory system, squadmates abilities, etc.).
ME:A brought back the inventory system with the ability to craft insane OP gear and weapons and also get the ME1 weapon feel with the "vintage heatsink" that removes the idiotic thermal clip system that was introduced in ME2 to appeal to Gears players.
As for the state of the ME universe, I agree, they should leave the Milky Way alone and focus elsewhere (not Andromeda because the world building is not solid enough to handle a sequel).
The ideal state is to have someone that isn't Bioware developing anything in the Mass Effect universe at this point.

I have more faith in any hatchetmen EA assembles that continues the IP instead, ala 343. (I know, 343 might have shit the bed under Microsoft's leadership, but eh. Can't be worse than what we're getting now.)

Didn't ME3 and Andromeda pretty much kill all interest in this series since the 2010s? The jacket is kinda cool, I guess, if somewhat unbelievable for an actual soldier to wear but I don't know who's gonna get excited for 2007 cover shooting mechanics besides consoomers with stockholm syndrome.

Really just ME3, and that was because of bad writing decisions made in ME2. Andromeda is the way it is in part because ME3 killed the universe ME1 and ME2 set up.

There are two satellite galaxies orbiting the Milky Way that no sci-fi seems to acknowledge existing. Would make more sense for an expedition to be sent to the nearest galaxies instead of Andromeda, which is only the nearest major galaxy, there are a bunch of minor galaxies around us that are closer.

Also the jacket looks fucking awful. People saying it looks good are insane. It looks like some sort of Fallout mod to add an 'edgy boi outfit along with the random tacticool guns you've probably got installed as well.
I'm all for dunking on the N7 aesthetic but at least it doesn't look like an Ikea shopping bag like IRL fallout merch

Bioware, for some reason or another, hasn't been popular with the consoomer crowd despite them trying their damned hardest to court them IMO.

That's why they are in the dire situation they are currently in.
Well, they could always make some kickass space hero story where we shoot bad guy aliens, save the day, and pick up a hot space chick or two along the way.

But that's crazy. Who would ever go for a game like that?

What pisses me off about Andromeda more than anything is right after you beat the final boss and wake up onboard the Ark there's a console with some messages that go "Well, akshually, the big bad wasn't in control of anything. Psych!"

Granted, that's just one example of the terrible modern day writing, but it is in my opinion by far the worst.

The other issue is that they never explained what was the purpose of turning every sentient being into Kett or who was behind it (the Jardaan?). I know it was the first game of a new story but it really felt like they didn't put a lot of thoughts into it.
The plot and some key elements were also very similar to Halo 4. Even the design of the Remnant structures looked like the Forerunner towers, their energy weapons looked like the Promethean weapons from H4 but with a chrome texture.

Oh, they copied everything with the art. The Kett stuff is a near-copy of the Grineer from Warframe.

As to the Kett, they actually did. The Kett are basically a different take on the Borg. "Join or die". They're there to steal everything of value from Heleus, including the inhabitants themselves. They actually showed up well after the Scourge fucked over the Angarans, so they're completely disconnected from that. All of the Remnant/Jardaan stuff is a plot red herring absolutely nothing is connected with, save the terraforming MacGuffin both you and the big bad want. You to make the place liveable and him to make it unlivable so everyone is forced to surrender to the Kett and become Kett to survive.

Anyone else really grateful that the original trilogy got finished in the nick of time, right before the tranny shit became ubiquitous?
There was Steve and his dead husband, but it was easily skippable. But yeah, it could have been worse.

Oh ok. I guess I didn't pay enough attention. I thought it was implied that the Angarans were created by the Jardaan.

I forgot the main thing: Meridian, the Dyson sphere similar to Requiem.

There was a lot of weird writing decisions like the Arks created for each species of the Council and yet when we arrive in the Heleus cluster, there are already humans, krogans, asaris and salarians working together and/or part of the Outlaws. Then there's also the AI stuff that goes against the lore established in ME1 and 2...
The cringiest thing to me was a Krogan datapad on Elaaden that was basically "teach men not to rape" but with plenty of in-universe pop culture references. This is what Mass Effect has become. It started as a Star Trek/Babylon 5 universe that slowly turned into Tumblr level of writing.

I think that falls more under the category of woke or gay than tranny specifically since Steve thankfully didn't look like a swamp creature. Honestly, there was something about that whole subplot that I really fucking hated. It wasn't simply the fact that the character was gay, but how forced it felt, like it was a very early attempt at kowtowing to the woke culture that was on the brink of exploding.

Oh, its outright stated the Jardaan created them, but the Kett have only been in the Heleus Cluster for only a few decades. The Jardaan disappeared ages ago and the Angarans got BTFO'd by the Scourge while the Initiative was still a few centuries away from arriving in the Andromeda galaxy. The Jardaan/Remnant/Scourge stuff goes nowhere plot-wise save to act as a MacGuffin for you and the Kett to race each other for, even with the revelation that the Angarans were artificially created.

EDIT: As to Krogan data terminals and pop culture references, it may be misplaced as all fuck but Krantt: The Ragening still sounds better than anything WW has put out in recent years.

You felt that way because it was true. Bioware never got over how much shit they got from the Tumblr crowd for not having a gay romance in 1 or 2 but lesbians going back to KotOR.
