Mass Effect (4?) - N7 Day

I think that falls more under the category of woke or gay than tranny specifically since Steve thankfully didn't look like a swamp creature. Honestly, there was something about that whole subplot that I really fucking hated. It wasn't simply the fact that the character was gay, but how forced it felt, like it was a very early attempt at kowtowing to the woke culture that was on the brink of exploding.
"Let me help you get over your dead husband... in bed" was creepy on many levels.

At least we got STEEEEEEEEEEVEEEEEEEEE

If I had to guess as the intended plot of the Jardaan for the aborted trilogy, they were going to be not Prothean in the aims but yeah, the nu-Halo option of them being an outright evil empire of the past and it would end up a conflict between the Milky Way races/groups/Power Rangers and the Jardaan and/or their creations over the fate of native (not created) life in the Andromeda galaxy. And then some moralizing about how created life is life, too, being the main hook but don't take away their will or whatever.

Edit: I'm almost certain the sequel or DLC would've delved into you finding the Quarian ship close to basically the Jardaan's equivalent of relays and that's what took the ark offline.

That's also because modern writers don't know how to be subtle. They think that if a character is gay or a tranny, every living being in that universe must be aware of it.
There's a perfect example of that in the original The Last of Us and the HBO/Druckmann live adaptation. In the original game, Bill is gay but you don't know that unless you look for it. In the tv show, Druckmann decided to make an entire episode about two beared guys having anal sex.

"I'm alright"

Well they've had what five or six major financial flops in a row now? ESG money is drying up and studios are being closed down left an right. Whatever their next project is it needs to be a hit otherwise Bioware is probably done.

They haven't produced a decent game in literally more than a decade:

- Dragon Age 2: Rushed, railroady mess that gave you zero meaningful decisions and even though it had little to no plot deviations to account for across the game, ended up being way worse than origins.
- Mass Effect 3: The only decent story parts are the payoffs that the first two games set up and built. Anything original from it is absolutely contrived, fanfiction-tier bullshit (e.g Cerberus are the bad guys, Kai Leng, the Reapers motivations, etc)
- Dragon Age: Inquisition: A single player MMO, with a metric ton of meaningless busywork that amounts to nothing, barely any meaningful decisions and trash characters all around. (And I'm not even getting into all the shit they retconned from Origins)
- ME: Andromeda: The Dragon Age Inquisition of the ME saga. Arguably even worse than that, since the characters and story were so boring that I dropped it around halfway in the game. Hell, it was so bad that not even EA wanted to monetize it further with DLCs.
- Anthem: Got snuffed out after little more than a year and a metric ton of fuckery.

The situation at Bioware is so bad that even the trash developers who got in by Inquisition and Andromeda have jumped ship already. I really doubt either ME4 or DA3 will ever be released, and if they do, they'll probably make Andromeda and Inquisition look like fucking masterpieces.

I think it's over for DA4, but ME4 will be released.
It's clear by now that their target audience and the safe-horny enthusiasts have jumped to another IP: Balldo's Gayte 3.

No idea why, but I still hope ME5 will turn out alright. Probably wishful thinking because I like the setting. It'll probably end up in development hell like DA4 and come out another woke disaster.

Also, Inquisition wasn't that bad.

Fan reception aside, I'm pretty sure DA:I is considered a "success" by the publisher and (((game critics))). So I doubt it's seen as marring their release record by the suits. This isn't a defense of the game.

Really don't know where they can go with the story. Andromeda wasn't compelling at all story-wise.
Miranda and Liara are now a power lesbian couple, gifted with the Holy Powers Biotics of Lesbomancy.
They travel the universe together, hunting down chuds and looking for Shep to take revenge on him/her/they/ze/zir for having sex with both and lying about it.
Shep's remains (yes again) are now carefully nursed back to life (yes again) in another galaxy by Tali, with the means of Geth milk. It's a race against time.

Can't disagree there, I'm sure they made their money back on that one, but it was probably their last hurrah in that department. Andromeda postlaunch development got cut short (The DLC they had on the pipeline was hastily reconverted to a novel, most likely due to poor sales), and we know how Anthem went down.

In hindsight, Inquisition was the point of no return from Bioware: Most of the long time devs were already gone, they had no ideas of their own (i.e trying to hop on the open world bandwagon, reusing the big bad from a DA2 DLC, the stapled-on crafting system) and the bad writing couldn't be ignored anymore (I rolled my eyes at making every companion bisexual in DA2 or being especially on the nose with the homo characters in ME3, but retconning the Qunari so they're okay with trannies was fucking immersion breaking, and that's just one of many cases)

Now that's a story I'd like to play through.

The rumor is that it's still in pre-production and will launch in 2029. The odds the studio survives the next Dilation Age game and makes it through the inevitable major recession/depression the USA and Canada will go through in the next six fucking years is 0%.

If, by some miracle it does release, it'll be a pointlessly woke game launching years after that fad has been dead and buried.

I'd put more money on a smaller studio releasing a fun space opera RPG in the next 3-4 years than anything coming from this. Most people don't really give a flying fuck about the Mass Effect universe as it was pretty bland as sci-fi goes, they just want a decent space RPG with a moderately interesting story, some sexy aliens with nice titties, and interesting planets. Intead we're going to get Transmasc Effect.

I miss Mass Effect. I even liked 3. :(

It is probably the last Bioware game that made anything resembling a profit.
