MCU Television and Animation Series on Disney + - WandaVision, FATWS, Loki, etc

Good cure for Insomnia honestly.

I went in with good expectations before the whiny accusations of "Cope lul", very let down. It's cool that some of you enjoy it somehow, but I don't. Only one more episode, then I can safely say it's Strike 2 for me. Loki is the last chance and then I'm just gonna quit bothering.

And I have good expectations (just trying to be optimistic even if a part of me knows it will probably be a let down too) for that too.

Frankly you’re probably just not the target audience anymore.

I didn’t bother watching this shit because I stopped caring about the MCU post-Endgame. This new Disney+ stuff is going to make people who still care happy and I’m happy for them that Disney is putting in more than the bare minimum of effort, but if you’ve already gotten off the train, then you’ve gotten off the train and this stuff isn’t nearly good enough to draw back in fans that have gotten bored of the same old shit.

I’ve been hearing that TFAWS is leaning a bit too hard into the whole “BLM ACAB racism stuff” for some people. JLongbone, the girl that does those Batwoman reviews, has been tweeting about how obnoxious it can be.

With all due respect to her, Jay strikes me as very "anti-woke" and would probably roll her eyes at the most subtle of racial commentary. I follow a few black reactors and they've reacted positively to F&WS overall (especially the last episode).

Julia Louis-Dreyfus' character seems more like Valerie Cooper than Fontaine (not that it really matters, it's just interesting they went with Fontaine instead of Cooper; maybe there was some sort of rights problem at the time of writing the scripts given that Cooper is largely an X-Men character). Sounded like they were setting her up for the Thunderbolts.

So far I think the show's biggest failing is that the Flag Smashers just aren't very interesting. They feel like more of a nuisance than a threat, especially not a threat that super heroes should be handling, and only have any sort of 'power' because the show tells us that they have apparently near infinite support from people across the globe.

The most "woke" it gets is acknowledging Black people got treated badly in the 50's - 70's and "proto Cap" distrusts whitey and America as a result. They're also none-too-subtly insinuating Sam is going to ascend that and be genuinely beloved by the country as New Captain America and not BASED NIGGER KILL ALL WHITES.

His sister more or less outright tells him "Fuck that old nigga lol". I don't understand why people would be screaming "woke!" outside the fact that such topics are touched at all.

You know how some people make everything into political and racial commentary and demand it be discussed? The other side of that is apathy and cynicism about even the most benign of topics. I'm not saying that's what's happening here since I actually enjoy Jay's work, but I think her Batwoman coverage might be clouding her judgement.

Besides it seemed like Sam's sister wanted to jump some White Wolf cock the second she saw him, idk how woke black women submitting to white pecker is.

As I said, will give Loki a shot...if that fails to impress I am just gonna be done.

For real btw I won't really be watching anymore, unless someone forces me, or they somehow pull off a miracle and make something that rivals Raimi-Spiderman or Dark Knight.

The problem is that it’s nonsensical in its metaphors.
For example, what it tries to say:
>Blacks are unfairly denied bank loans
What it actually says:
>Blipped individuals are a credit risk because they were legally dead for years, even a well known superhero and government employee

What the fuck is the bank’s logic? That the Blipped might disappear again, because that’s the only way it’d make sense. And in that case, the logic has nothing to do with race; a black man happens to be involved and that just makes it awkward.

It is the definition of “hello fellow kids”. The Rat tries to be woke, but doesn’t actually get what the issues are; let alone why they exist in the first place.

Well Ep 5 shows the truth about that it's all about power plays, no sooner after the senator discharged Walker for killing someone in public. His response to the Patch Act was send soldiers to handle the deportation knowing full well what happens when you force refugees to leave at gunpoint, ones clearly influenced by the Flag Smasher ideology and won't go quietly once they know that they will likely face certain death going back to their home country. It's only wrong for an american soldier to gun down someone in public, it's only wrong if we don't get the okay to murder non-white refugee illegal scum with the tacit approval of the world's elite.
