Hey Clubby, in your experience, who is making excellent .22 LR rounds these days? For plinking or for hunting small game..22 LR stuff
Does Ruger still produce these? I was pleasantly surprised by how good their MPR is given its price point. I picked up one of their 8529s because it was on sale at a good price. BCM rifles are better but not by as much as the price difference would imply.View attachment 6341642
I heard horrible things about the sr556, but I have to say, I am a big fan of it so far. Its a bit heavy, but it doesn't jump much, and so far has ran flawlessly (with the exception of when I tried to run a busted theramelt mag in it. Shooting it today put out like 2.5in groups at 100yds.
Same here. I prefer the long stroke piston system, but not to the exclusion of internal piston rifles.it is not orthodox, but i have always liked piston ARs
Right? I get why that will never happen given that Sig is almost like the new Colt but it's too bad nobody else makes a rifle like that. If they gave that series a few modern touches and re-released it I bet it'd sell well even at the ridiculous price we all know they'd charge for it.I wish Sig would bring back the 550 rifles that used STANAG mags, sad that I missed out on one when the getting was good. No, I don't want a "real one" that takes the unobtanium Swiss magazines, because I would like more than two on hand incase I have to you know... use it.
Why not?The ELW barrel profile is essentially a pencil barrel, I'm not a fan
Edit: I purchased Burn Proof Gear rail raps thinking I'd need them for sure. Those work as advertised, as I was able to run 4 magazines damn quick and still hold on to the rail with bare hands (though it was for sure hot). It definitely could happen that one may get ambushed in a non-mil setting and need to lay down suppressing fire to get clear, but that seems highly improbable. I don't think they're useless, but I'd group such things in with lots of aftermarket stuff most of us get that we really don't need (ambi charging handles/safeties, braided buffer springs, etc.).
Also, @Falcos_Commisar, hard agree with you on Criterion barrels. Not cheap but well worth it if one has the money when piecing together an AR or changing barrels for whatever reason.
