It's not that it's still being issued, it's mostly leftover inventory. You're not going to get rid of FA rifles if you don't have to.

You’d be surprised what you will find in some southern backwoods counties. I had a sheriff once show me the 3 M1928 Thompson guns they had purchased in the 20s to deal with bootleggers. They still had them along with 3 drums for each one. And they were never going to get rid of them.

I'm moving on to modernizing what was my dad's ALICE pack. I've swapped out the kidney pad for the ocp molle one I acquired at my last unit and tied a Paracord carry handle to the frame. I'm going to swap to a buckle strap system next. Love this pack.

I love the ALICE packs. Still one of the best rucksacks out there half a century later.
Nicest thing you can do to an Alice pack is get a set of Tactical Tailor super straps. Worth every penny, and cheapest if you buy them direct. Also, if you want to go all out on modernizing, give a medium molle or 1606 frame a try. They flex more than the aluminum, but sit closer to your back and weigh significantly less. Depends on what trade offs you want.

That reminds me. The guy owns my local range and who taught my CC class is a dead ringer for Mike Ehrmantraut.

I don't wanna say he's your stereotypical range douchebag, for charity's sake. But the dude carried himself in a very Serious Business manner (which self-defense really is; ask Kyle Rittenhouse or Varg Freeborn).

Even if you are on the side of the angels, there are a fuckton of conniving little Thomas Bingers that inhabit the judicial system. They have zero qualms about putting you away for life, even if they know they're full of shit, in order to advance their careers.
 
I would like this thread's input on a Mystery, back in late October of this year Mossberg released a new shotgun and a new microcompact pistol and they held an event for the release and invited a bunch of gun blog/youtube channel writers to come out and play with the new products. However in one of the subsequently produced videos by Gun Talk Media, there is something that is featured as far as I can tell only in their content but is not exactly shown as it is hidden behind a censor blur, and said object is most certainly a firearm, I would like to ask the opinions of the thread as to just what kind of firearm it might be.

I personally think it's most likely some kind of new bolt action and it might be a straight pull. I say bolt action because It has a bolt gun style stock, Mossberg was already showing off their new shotgun model(s) of which they revealed four so I don't see why they'd feel the need to arbitrarily not reveal a fifth and the straight pull bit comes from it being censored, In my opinion you're not going to be secretive about yet another generic bolt action. But who knows, if might have some kind of crazy new tech in it. Both Savage and Beretta have also recently came out with straight pull rifles.

How are Mossberg's handguns? Other than their shotguns I never found myself interested in anything else they made.

That's actually why I like watching ASP and his ASP Extra channel.
 
So S&W has a new pistol in the works, and to say the least it is interesting. It is called the CSX, Has an aluminum frame, interchangeable polymer backstraps, Is SAO, chambered in 9mm, Ambidestrous safety and Slide stop, swappable mag release. 10-12 round magazines which are not Shield+ magazines and are probably original/proprietary. The leaked image doesn't show it with an Optic cut or an accessory rail. Interestingly said SAO trigger has a glock style trigger safety, the leaker describes the trigger as follows "Trigger has a short travel but mildly stiff break. Trigger pull overall is not bad. The reset is atrocious though. False reset then real reset."

Not about guns but I’ll bite for what it’s worth. I personally hate them and think they’re for edge lords. But on the other hand a buddy I knew was Filipino and mentioned they’re used in whatever MA they do there.

I prefer fixed blades. 6-8” But I’ve always been paranoid about folding blades fucking me over when I need them.

I would like to know too. My LGS has a sale on them now for pretty cheap. Never new Mossberg made pistols.

Mossberg, like Remington or Winchester, et c have been gunmakers for a very long time and have made pretty much everything. the Mossberg Brownie for example, from the early 1900's.

their pistols, like Browning's, tend to be imported designs, although the MC1 is a very "Glock" like pistol, since that patent ran out many years ago and Glock has been leaving little niches in the market here and there for others to make inroads to sell a pistol. a "restrike" capable Glock-like single stack compact pistol for a low price is kind of neat.
