I carry a G43 and it suits my needs. The only issue I had with it was the 10 round mag, but I found aftermarket mags which up the capacity to 15 without increasing the size, not sure how, but I ran about 50 rounds through them when I first got them and had no issues. Since then I've put a couple three hundred rounds through them and never had an issue. At the moment I'm considering getting a red dot for it, but not sure which pattern I want, and since I only just learned to shoot with both eyes open Im not sure how much advantage a red dot will really give me.
You're talking about Shield Arms mags, I assume. Did you get the mag catch too? They recommend metal on metal because the OEM catch on steel mags can cause issues. The steel mag catch will also eat up plastic magazines.

As far as red dots go, I recommend the Holosun 507-k2. It's made for compact pistols. I wouldn't say they're totally necessary but they are nice to have. It does take some practice to get used to.

I believe it's the shield arms mags yeah. I don't recall if I got the mag catch, don't think so but I haven't had any issues so far.

I only just got confortable shoiting with both eyes open as opposed to closing my left, so I might wait awhile on the dot. Especially since I'd have to get a new holster.

Any opinions on the Howa Hera H7 in .308 with the 24" HB for a budget precision/hunting rifle? ODG one looks pretty sexy.

Just wanna say that this post planted a bug in my head and I ended up ordering a 20" Howa heavy barreled action and a H7 chassis for it. Comically, it was cheaper than buying the same existing 24" heavy barrel rifle, so I ended up with the short rifle I wanted and saved some cash on the way.

How do drop in triggers compare to the simple GI style trigger?

And which are the best drop in triggers as having issues with one of the trigger pins, keeps on pushing out to one side.

This is a user preference thing and also depends on use case. I'm a Geissele fag and have a few SSA-E triggers and think they're worth the ridiculous price. Timney triggers are famous for competition and are complete drop in cassettes. It just depends what you want.

What would be suitable for a 20 inch barrel that is used for plinking mostly once in a while?

If you just want to dip your toes into the space, CMC and Rise Armament have drop-in offerings around $100. My CMCs break a bit nicer, but the Rise RA-140 (I think it's been rebranded as Rave-140 now) was solid and a huge improvement over milspec. Pretty sure that you can get the latter for $100 with anti-walk pins included all day long at places like Aim Surplus and Primary Arms.

It's worth noting that lighter weight drop-ins may not play nicely with hard primers but I've yet to run into an issue. If you are worried about that sort of thing, the ALG ACT is basically a cleaned up and polished milspec trigger that still breaks around 6# but does so cleanly.

I fucking love AR PDW's, especially in .300BLK with a can, 5.56 just loses so much energy even with the heavier loads. I tried my best to copy the honey badger based on a %80 forged lower. IMHO this platform is far superior to the MP5, Slinging 200 grains JHPs, even quieter than 9mm, really nice mounting options for really anything but, we all know it really shines with an Eotech.

Just goes to show "muh stopping power" is bullshit.

That being said, I fuckin felt that shit while reading the article. Ugh. Glad he's ok
Dude even though he took the hit, a 44 magnum to the chest is still 44 magnum to the chest, armor or no. Glad God was smiling on the man.
I have to say, it’s bizarre how many people seem to take the Deagle man’s side in this situation, it seems to be a particularly retarded sort of libertarian who thinks that DUI charges violate the NAP or some shit. In the comments of the article people were saying that DUI charges are just a “money making scheme” yeah idc about the state making money off of retards, it’s more the fact that said money goes towards teaching school kids about buttsex and trying to get them to mutilate their genitals that I object to.

Also, Deagle man was a sex pest and a repeat felon, not exactly some angel who dindu muffin.
Yeah Deagle man wasn't exactly a upstanding citizen. A felon, sex pest, and drunk on the road, which is a risk for everyone. The man over escalated the situation and now he's fucking dead because of it. Cop was smart, wore good armor, and blew him the fuck out.
When I was younger I really hated the idea of a polymer framed gun, like really hated it, I got a police trade in sig225 for $300, I ran out of money had to sell it. I really liked that thing but, I went glock and never looked back. I found a glock 27 barely used for $325? I think it was? The size/weight impressed me and I tried very hard to limp-wrist it just to see if I could get a jam, going so far as to hold it with 3 fingers but it ran very well, it was not the first generation that had issues with the .40/feed ramp "thing". Then about a year later I found a brand new 17 for $400 so new it had the weird orange/copper grease the glock factory uses, it had been on display for about 48 hours before I claimed it. About a year later I traded it for a glock 22 that was in 9/10 shape. The 17 worked fine and all but I committed to .40 S&W for my self defense pistols.
Still working on getting my 40 lol; polymer frames are fine, just get a good one

Getting shot, period, sucks. I'm just lampooning the decades old meme at this point about how boomers think ballistics work. Too many fucking movies where you see a guy doing cartwheels when shot by a 9mm.

As far as being smart and wearing armor, I don't personally know of a single LE agency in the US where it isn't required.

Haven't gotten shot myself luckily, but yeah, 9mm can do you in in a single round; it hurts. I'm just imagining 44 magnum, a bear round is like that times ten

Anything can do you in a single round with good shot placement. A person can take a lot of 9mm to the extremities and body and still keep coming.

It's why I carry a 38 special with trusted ammo. Shot placement will compensate for power differences almost every time. Now if you shoot like shit and you're opponent is determined, hoo boy, sucks for you

many federal OIG's omit body armor for most sworn LE except during arrest/seizure actions, the coast guard doesn't require it except during particular duty assignments, et c.
A friend of mine works for State Dept Diplomatic protection and they were telling me it's optional mostly because they're in a office half the time.
