Minecraft

I finally bought it after having it years ago and losing access to whatever email I used to buy it.

How do I RTX. I want to justify spending too much on a graphics card.
if you've got bedrock, simply enter one of nvidia's tech demo worlds through the in-game marketplace.
outside of nvidia's tech demo worlds, you'll need to install an RTX resource pack and add it to whatever world(s) you want RTX to be on for.
i'd personally recommend kelly's rtx as it's basically just the vanilla textures but with RTX support. dump it wherever microsoft has decided resource packs go these days.

if you're using java, there is no officially supported RTX shader so you'd want SEUS PTGI with optifine for basically the same experience.
there are other shaders out there, but most are locked behind a patreon paywall.

i personally prefer the official RTX implementation, but that comes with the massive drawback of playing bedrock edition.

Every single mob votes (so far) has been really poorly designed with the choices not being on the same level which ruins point of it as a whole.

There is always a superior one out of the list may it be known before or after, like the Blaze lord, Iceologer or Allay in the newest case.

But you can't really get mad at the winners for the previous ones because they were chosen because of there being lack of a mob type like them or because of their laughable disadvantage in the vote as a whole.
I suppose. That's likely because, with the exception of the first mob vote, they intend for all of the mobs to get into the game with us just choosing which one we want first.

Also, the Wildfire (or Blaze lord that you called it) was definitely not the superior choice in the first mob vote. The Great Hunger and Barnacle were both equally interesting in concept.

Was trying to think of it subjectively, because of it being a Nether exclusive mob (and probably only spawning in fortresses) and not having any known annoying mechanic attached to it.

Like for real, three of the mobs prevented you from adventuring.
Mob A: would randomly grab you while you're in the ocean.
The Phantom (Mob B): prevents you from adventuring without going to sleep.
Mob C: would randomly come out of the ground to immobilize you and slowly kill you.
Mob D was really just a bigger Blaze and a cool looking one at that.

Idk was trying to think of it subjectively, you see, Wildfire would not be as annoying as other four because of it being in Nether (and probably only spawning in fortresses) which is why I see it as the best option for the vote.
Oh no, I see what you mean. Wildfire would been a good pick for me too.

Zoo Wee mama.

Two days ago a video was made about C418 seemingly disappearing from making music for the game.

Here's the video if you're interested.

Notch had a deal with C418 way back in the alpha days to compose music for Minecraft, Music that he would then buy the license from C418 because it was the most cost-effective way it at the time.

Now that Minecraft is owned by Microsoft they would have rather just buy the full rights to the music outright although it seems that C418 decided to decline this offer which is the reason why they are now bringing on new artists to make music that they can own in-full.

After all that is explained, the narrator of the video brings up how C418 plans to compose music for a whole new game under a called "Ivy Road" which it's staff photo doesn't give the best first impression.

Huh. Kinda stinks that C418 seemingly won't compose anymore tracks for the game, but it isn't the end of world I guess.
Mob C: would randomly come out of the ground to immobilize you and slowly kill you.
The Great Hunger wasn't going to immobilize you when it striked. It would have been the standard contact damage affair with him having the special ability of snagging and disenchanting an item you had on you at the time.

The disenchanting would have been the annoying aspect of it, but even then it would only get you if you weren't paying attention to your surroundings.

Really, now that you bring it up, I just realized the general theme of that mob vote was essentially what kind of hazard you want to run into as you explored.

Infinite respect for standing up to M$ but wow what a future he chose

I don't if it's the artstyle or what, but two of those portraits make it seem there are at least 2 transgenders on that team. The brony doesn't need any comments.
You know what? If they're troons, I'm willing to give them one (1) prop for at least drawing themselves accurately enough to be clocked in a cartoon instead of pretending that they're an uwu beautiful anime gril.

To be frank, I won't be surprised if Mojang in the future will quietly replace C418's work with theirs.

In Microsoft's perspective, it would safer to outright delete those tracks to avoid a potential licensing lawsuit - which it's just waiting to happen, in my opinion.
That would depend on rather or not C418 is willing to go through with something like that and he doesn't seem like the kind of guy to be that petty.

Especially since most of his tracks for the game (the Alpha soundtrack anyway) are still unused.

Yeah, but I think that is a risk that Microsoft is not willing to take.

The biggest issue with them just straight up removing C418's tracks is that the outrage would be catastrophic.

At this point, his work is a part of Minecraft's Identity. Removing it now would do more harm for the game than it would good.
