Founding:
I was in the process of manually updating and fixing hundreds of broken articles from the past two decades when I was banned(which I knew was a short temporary ban), I left during the ban but not because of it. I was informed that there was a list of "unwanted" users being drawn up by the administrators of the site — I was
not on this list as far as I know but many good users presumably were.
Main differences:
- RPGHQ is owned & operated by an American. The rules are mostly American law with some additions to make the place usable(e.g., no spam) or just to cater to our tastes(porn rules). RPGHQ is an American site primarily for Americans.
- Unabashed enjoyers of slop.
- Unwillingness to curate the userbase frustrates some users and has caused others to post less or leave. Some of the posters here are very polarizing.
- Some of the subforums require a signup to view, this is to prevent them from being indexed by bots we don't recognize i.e., SEO stuff
- RPGCodex is owned by a guy that has — as to not doxx… shall we say… — very close ties with the Australian Aboriginal community, and is run almost entirely by a Jewish man living in Israel. The rules are arbitrary(this is itself a rule). RPGCodex is a non-American western site primarily for non-Americans with a very significantSlavic userbase.
- You will find it difficult to discuss any game not considered to be good by the groupthink, and the groupthink has become very Slavic.
- Has protected subforums that require donation or an old account to view. Most controversial stuff gets shuffled here.
- Has a very high tendency to censor discussions, moving them to said protected subforums. As proof of this, one of the moderators of RPGCodex maintains a thread here that was censored there. The public-facing KCD2 thread was completely pruned of most negative opinions regarding e.g., homosexual henry, jewish content, and so forth.

Rusty asked DU (the codex admin) to make an invite only chat for the guys so we could avoid the heroin addicted tranny prostitute and her army of simps who were getting people banned over her whims. You know, a place for the bros that felt like the good old days without being blasted by shitlibs. In that chat we discussed many things, included, the heroin addicted tranny prostitute because why not. Apparently this discussing her, which included some of her public postings on the public forum resetera (and I should add, the codex itself has a thread dedicated to posting screenshots of resetera) constituted proof of a CONSPIRACY to bring her down via doxxing (apparently if I screenshot a post of yours on this forum, I am DOXXING you, be careful!).
DU nuked the entire chat (named Turtle Zone, now you know why some of us have a turtle badge) and the shitstorm eventually lead to a few bans, rusty included. Rusty, who was fixing their site for free prior the ban, decided to create a safe space free of heroin addicted tranny prostitutes which became the rpgHQ. A few months after that, the Codex forced mandatory 2FA on users, prompting them to look for codes every month, which drove a second wave of codex refugees to this site. DU predicted the new site would last only a few months, but here we are.
Even if the users on the codex (providing you ignore all the trannies, simps and commies, who don't post in the gaming subforums so they're easy to ignore for a newbie) can appear to be based, the admins themselves aren't and they have time and time again chosen the side of shitliberism. A guy like The Wall has most of his problematic postings removed from public view because he says dangerous (aka not 'safe based') things. Not all that glitters is gold.

Summary:
According to the RPGHQ folks, there's a tranny who has an OnlyFans and a ResetEra account named
Theodora who has a cult of simps worshipping him in RPGCodex. Discussion of Theodora and especially regarding his activity in ResetEra (which is obviously contrary to the chud-dish environment of the Codex) is censored and results in bans by the administration. Meanwhile,
rusty_shackleford was a popular user on the forum, and was doing some of the site's dirty work for free by fixing and updating hundreds of broken articles (somewhat like a 8chan-era Null).
Disliking the corruption of the site caused by Theodora, rusty asked the admin
DarkUnderlord (DU) to create an invite-only private chat called "Turtle Zone" which was then granted. It was safe from Theodora and his sycophants, and the chat soon thrived with many Codex users joining, with discussion soon centering to discussing Theodora and his public postings in ResetEra (of which the Codex also has a community-watch-like thread on ResetEra users). Soon, one of the admins
Twiglard who was also an active user in the "Turtle Zone" and sick of the special treatment given to Theodora decides to expose Theodora and his ResetEra history once and for all. Following advice with the "Turtle Zone," Twiglard posted his exposure thread, causing a war in the Codex.
The administrators, especially DU, was outraged and sided with Theodora against rusty and the "Turtle Zone." The chat was banned, with many participants in the chat also banned as well, with rusty given a temporary ban. The admins stated that these bannings were due to the exposure thread was a "conspiracy to dox" or is "actual doxing" against Theodora, even though all the "doxed" information were just Theodora's public Resetera posts (which admins allegedly said contained Theodora's real name). rusty soon founded RPGHQ as a refuge, and many banned Codex users soon followed him. Twiglard was spared and still remains an admin to this day, but became an active user in RPGHQ.
