Most Toxic Online Game Communities - Hate the Players, eventually hate the game.

any official forum, only marxists and trannies and soyboys allowed to post these days.
It's been this way for quite a while. I remember when Final Fantasy XI finally made an official forum back in 2011 (for a game that first came out in 2001!) the janitors were relentless about deleting anything impolite and banning the poster. So many hilarious shitposts, lost in time... like tears in rain. But of course the effect of this was that everybody who was actually any good at the game was weeded out for telling the complete retards that their ideas were stupid. So the retards were the only ones who got to give feedback. They're still there too, unless they moved on to Final Fantasy XIV eventually, which a lot of them did.

I still miss my personal lolcow who used her "attention deficate disorder"[sic] to excuse all her many fuckups and didn't understand why everyone thought this was so hilarious. She'd get real mad about being laughed at and the madder she got, the more retarded (and misspelled) her posts became, which just made everyone laugh at her harder. Even though she acted like a 13 year old, she was actually in her early 20s, so there was no need to feel bad about mocking her.

FFXIV has athe worst MMO community I've seen, it's a bunch of trannies ERPing in public chat 24/7, who will gang you if you dare to disagree with the pre-established narrative, be it PvE meta, PVP, or RP communities.

Ironically the efforts to keep it squeaky clean (trannies being degenerates is OK, but being mean to others is a big no-no) has bred some of the most obnoxious and insufferable faggots in existence.
I like the game, but hate the community, and its becoming increasingly difficult to find sane people to play with.
I think of all the MMOs I've ever played, FFXIV's is by far the most sociopathic. What you described is nothing compared to the shit I've seen; open degeneracy like necrophilia (I have picture proof of a 'survey' a bar customer can fill out that displays their kinks and on there are beastiality and necrophilia and they had a 'hardcore' tab where those same kinks were displayed in pictures), people intentionally picking fights so they can get the GMs involved and ban the guy they picked a fight with, intentionally wiping groups baiting a person into swearing or yelling at them so they can report, people fucking up the housing system intentionally by relocating plots so they can set the timer on them every time a new ward pops up for no reason, I could go all day about the modding community not being able to hide their degeneracy behind mature content filters on twitter meaning minors can easily by accident view these inappropriate pictures, the party finder... is the fucking party finder, people will straight up report you if you stand on top of them even if by accident without your knowledge (spawning out of dungeon), I could go all day. It's crazy how screwed up the community is. Granted I've been on the Crystal data center all my time spent on the game, so I don't know what Aether or Primal's like.
FFXIV was the second game that I quit, after modern day Old School Runescape, because the community gave me a sick feeling.

Old School Runescape is filled with autistic loser manchildren, constantly comparing their in-game grinding e-peens, bragging about how long they've sat in their chair without washing themselves, and obnoxiously one-upping anything you are doing or enjoying. There's literally no one else that plays that game. It was really unpleasant and made me feel sad. You can't bond with anyone or make friends because you don't feel safe sharing any information about yourself, since these stinky fucks won't benefit you in any way. I was really disappointed by the community because I loved OSRS as a teen and I wanted to enjoy it for nostalgia's sake. I am not even going into the problems that the company Jagex has, like the constant hacking and security problems, including their own admins hacking players from the back-end.

FFXIV meanwhile is filled with perverted loser manchildren, who dress their female character in the skimpiest maid outfit possible, run around acting "sexy" in public, and flirt with other perverted loser manchildren posing as females. There are TONS of trannies and tranny "LGBT" FCs (guilds). If you're ever in a voice chat, you can hear the degeneracy in the voices of these people. The actual women™ that play the game are strange, and unpleasant. They're the kind of older (35+) women that want to be worshipped by a bunch of NEETs that play the game, and act as their queen. They are very unfriendly to other women unless they are servile to them.

General chat was spammed with perverted shit or tranny shit. You can't escape it. I confused the hell out of my friend when I suddenly gave him all my in-game currency and quit. I was so uncomfortable, and I had a really hard time getting him to understand the problems with the atmosphere in that game. Too much degeneracy and hug-boxing of perverts. The character designs and costumes themselves are made to appeal to dirty coomers, which should have clued me into the game not being for me. I couldn't take the cutscenes seriously because so many npcs were dressed as Asian-styled strippers, and sexual assault/harassment of female npcs by things like clockwork robots in the cutscenes was played off as a funny, normal thing. I felt like I was in some weird anime porno. I wouldn't want to be friends with 95% of the people who I met in that game.

I quit after a series of shitty updates that pandered heavily to these types. You know, the ones that think certain activities being simplified "devalues" their time.

The best part about the MWO situation is that GMs are WAY harder on trash talkers (which are frankly a non-issue) than they are about shitheads being shitheads and blocking/FFing. My favorite incidents regarding absolutely unnecessary FF are when some dumb asshole decides to test his weapons/weapon groupings at spawn by firing a full alpha into your rear armor. "OOPS MY BAD HAHA" Yeah your stupid fucking stunt just obliterated my fucking Heavy Gauss Rifle you dumb asshole, check your fucking fire.
I tried MWO once. First time out I accidentally SRM6’ed a teammate in the back and the response was quite uncouth. I decided not to go back to the game.

League of Legends. Hands down. Played five rounds, deleted my account after. Every group I joined was made up of the most angry, hateful, vitriolic assholes that spent the entire game screaming at everyone for failing. In the area for new players.

I had really good bants with Team Fortress 2 until it was infested with bronies and furries with furry porn sprays.

Never had this issue because Quetz always had QCDN (server specific forum). Which itself was hilarious.
The "Flameboard" contained some truly brilliant sperging. Especially funny as Dynamis runs were publically scheduled and everyone used QCDN to do so. If someone's LS transferred to Quetz and didn't follow the schedule and blocked entry during a "scheduled" run, the meltdowns would quickly follow.

Remember when a bunch of people got their accounts banned by using the salvage dupe? I remember the salt from those threads on BG quite well.

Yes, I remember Dynamis drama. I'm pretty sure that all of the servers had a schedule, but on some servers the JP and the NA kept separate calendars leading to drama when the arrogant xenophobic JP players wouldn't respect any schedule kept by NA. Assholes. Admittedly it was shitty that they weren't given any advance notice from Square-Enix about the fact that their servers would be used for the whole world and NA newbies would arrive en masse, but they had literally years to get over that. It was apparently quite a shock though to log in one update and suddenly the servers are full of all these rude, ignorant foreign players running around dying to monsters and causing every single region to suddenly fall under beastman control.

The JP Naked Galka Walls of Shame were funny too. They only deployed those against their own, though. So for everyone else they were just a spectator sport.

Oh, man, that pissed off nearly everyone. The cheaters were mad that they got caught, the people who would have cheated but didn't know how were mad that no one told them about the exploit, the people who got banned because someone else in their LS or alliance cheated and they didn't know were mad about it being unfair, and the people who never cheated and never would were mad about the cheaters who got off with a slap on the wrist or scot-free.

I may have fell into the didn't know of the exploit so was a little mad. A friend and I ran a Salvage LS during the time this all went down and we were both saying to each other "things could've been quicker...."

But then again, having 5+ years of MMO grinding taken away from you was way worse of an outcome, so ignorance truly is bliss it seems.

As a griefer, I have just one thing to say. My favorite games to grief in were the games with the most anti-griefing systems.

Examples, in WoW I often ninja looted since non-consensual PVP is disabled, they couldn't do shit and coz I was a tank, people rarely complained.

In League of Legends, I'd sometimes feed right away, or throw a game midway in a borderline realistic manner to encourage people to swear at me, then report them with various accounts (they are free) to get people banned.

In Overwatch, I'd pretend to pocket heal someone in ranked, then as soon as conflict started I'd stop healing them. Overwatch players are kinda retarded so sometimes they don't even notice and start flaming each other even though it was my fault. Then I'd report everyone for toxic behaviour.

In Diablo 3, I'd join hardcore games with tanky no damage build, then round up as many monsters as possible to dunk on the host to delete his character.

It was pretty fucking hilarious back in the day.

Hehehe, EVE was pretty great, though I avoided most of the high-end political shenanigans which were like a second fucking job, and don't even THINK of trying to do biz in chat in Jita, Rens or the other 'trade hub' systems. The number of scam contracts and offers filling the screen become just so much background noise.

Even being a lowbie with a guild of friends you would get griefed constantly with pirate guilds wardeccing you if you don' pay protection etc. I hear there is less of that these days with it being not too hard for even a small guild to own their own wormhole/system/fortress, but I haven't really looked.

Anyone else remember Shadowbane? Designed by griefers, for griefers. They stirred up a huge controversy by claiming siege combat so realistic you could 'rip the fetus out of your pregnant enemy and send it over their walls with a catapult.' I think 'fetapult' was one of the first 'hashtag' memes before hashtags were a thing. The game itself turned out to be buggy and unbalanced as shit, and I don't think it survived more then 2 years.

But some remember the fetapult.

With Corona-Chan going to rain on the world's parade and many aren't able to get out and do stuff like they used to, gaming is certainly seen a great increase, especially with either online games or games with online features. These games can be quite fun, but these games attract some of the worst players from wannabe DJs, trolls, tryhards, griefers, people throwing around cheap racial insults, etc...

So in all of your opinions, what's the most toxic online game community you have ever had the misfortune of entering with?
splatoon, unironically. i joined a few trannycord servers and every single fucking person was bragging about how they love cocks in their ass and support otherkin rights. got banned for spamming gay scat porn, was pretty fun.

Despite being a massive troll in some games. I am just a Station Trader in EVE, very few games allow you to practice free market capitalism.

Speaking of Shadowbane, it was just rereleased on steam today by some chinamen, have no idea about the quality of thier release. By the end of Shadowbanes life, wasn't it the Korean hegemony versus the rest of the world?

God DAMN, what a strange choice of a game to re-release. I wonder if the massive imbalances have been fixed? There was one borderline exploit I used to run as a druid, would gain like 20 levels an hour if I focussed, buggered if I can remember what I did. If it's FTP now on it's re-release I'll have to give it a look-see for old times sake. As for the end of the game, I couldn't say. I stopped playing it LONG before it ended, and never looked back.

Thanks for mentioning this though, I sure as shit never would have looked for it!

*edit* oh GHOD It's worse then I remember!! and sure enough, it's $10 to buy, then Pay to Win, BANESTONES are fucking sold in the store. NOT touching it even for nostalgia's sake.

Was it a matter of "heated brawl going on, trying to help put down an enemy player" or was it at spawn or what, because I never really begrudge players who are doing things like trying to help knock down an HGauss Annihilator and happen to splash around a little FF due to things like laser burn time/weapon spread but people who "test their weapons" without ensuring clear firing lanes are legit retarded. I wouldn't expect ANYONE to be happy about catching nearly 14 points of damage on back armor but sometimes it's perfectly understandable and very forgivable.

Let's just say it was an unfortunate accident and that I deserved the telling-off.

Not entirely sure if people have stories regarding "toxies" in Korean games, but I'll tell ya:

Once upon a time, Elsword was an enjoyable game. It was molded in high octane weeb cringe, but there was a bit of charm to it. When the official servers dropped the ball, a private server came in and picked it up. Though even the private server owner became a bit of a lolcow herself, but that's a tale for another thread.
But what makes Elsword's community interesting is that they come in two distinct flavors of poison:
The PVP tourneyfags who believe it's serious business and are more than happy to mob lynch anyone who happens to like a character who's considered "broken" because of higher attack speed or super armor moves...

And the biggest crowd of douchebags who will gang up on anyone that points the flaws within the game itself (Such as a kick system so broken you can carry an AFK team by yourself, or else get kicked out because that one OP member on the party is steamrolling everything and you can't even keep up), to the point of comparing them to Endgame, a former player who earned a status of Persona Non Grata among the Elsword community for being a huge sperg for one of the characters and for constantly reminding the players that this game is a sinking ship.

The more they try to control/moderate the player the worse the fan base gets and that goes for internet forums too.
R6 and reddit has some of the worst drooling retards this planet has ever seen. Even tough the game is heavily modrated not allowing any kind of slur or slur adjacent word or you get a ban (I got banned for typging nibba once) Same with reddit. You get banned for even having a slightly edgy opinion. Meaning that all form of creative tought his heavily montiored and censored.

But the retards have become experts in abusing the blindspots of the moderation tools making it a hell of a lot worse. Well i cant banter in chat with this guy anymore so ill just make sure he will accidentallykill me by walking in to his line of fire or in to his nade. Triggering the return fire mechanic killing him instead and you cant remove them anymore since r6 removed the ablilty to kick people from your game cause people on reddit complained that sometimes they get kicked and thats unfair and it doesnt get better as you climb the ranks. bronze 5 or plat 1 dosent matter.

While csgo that has bascily nonexistant moderation, isnt that bad even in europe. The worst you get is some ruski that refuses to turn off his mic or speak english. You get called the nword and you call him a slavtrash right back. If hes a complete retard you kick him and find a new random.
Same on 4chan or KF you get called a retard or get a bad sticker but someone will not remove your post for wrongthink. They will instead break down your argument and call you a slur.
Game devs need to let comunites police themselves by giving them a kick tool and the ability to call someone who is trash trash. To either improve and get a clue or gtfo. Like the human race has done for thousnads of years at this point.
