UN MtF Transgender Player Joins Women-Only Team, Sets Records, And Is Now Being Protested - And it isn't the first time this has happened...

https://volleymob.com/superliga-rivals-protest-tifannys-participation-after-setting-records/

A MtF transgender player has joined a female-exclusive volleyball team and is breaking once-steadfast records held by natural female players almost immediately. This player has played at a professional level on male-only teams before transitioning.

Choice quotes from this and related articles:

At 32 years old and 6’5″ in height, her debut for Italian A2 club Golem Palmi against Delta Trentino last season saw her came off the bench to secure her team’s come back from behind win with 28 points.

Tifanny’s case grabs attention also due to the fact that she has competed in the male version of Brazilian Superliga, and also played professionally in men’s leagues in Portugal, Indonesia, Spain, Belgium, Netherlands and France.

[From a fellow teammate]

[...]On a sporting level, her physical parameters are not those of a woman. I had the luck of playing in the A1 league last year, and did not see many players that can jump and attack at the level she does.

Bruno has also leaked one of Tifanny’s testosterone level exams, showing that the player is within regulations decided by the IOC:

Stupid.png

(I can't translate the language exactly, but for reference, the standard testosterone levels are around 280-1,100 ng/DL for males and 15-70 for females. This is a flawed metric anyways--testosterone often causes irreversible changes to physiology, so a lack of testosterone after the fact your development has been affected by it means nothing.)

This isn't the first time that such an event has happened, with a MtF transgender cyclist suddenly breaking long-unbeaten world records in cycling when swapping over to the women-only division, or this video demonstrating a MtF transgender MMA fighter immediately defeating their naturally female opponent.

Male-exclusive divisions and female-exclusive divisions obviously do not overlap due to the physical differences between the sexes. A cursory look at the held records for something such as weight lifting shows a large difference between male and female scores. Providing evidence to demonstrate this, female-exclusive adult soccer teams have been documented playing against under-15 boys teams for practice and losing.

There is increasingly mounting evidence to conclude that, despite what your position on transgenderism may be, allowing transgender players to play on female teams is creating an unfair competitive environment for naturally female competitors.

And there would be very little room for societal disapproval to sneak in. Or if it does sneak in, it can't be any harder than just being some poor male asshole, and having to flip burgers to buy computer parts. We all had hindrances, but we did what we could to fund our hobby.
They refuse to acknowledge this. If you're male, then it's not possible that you experienced any hardship, and if you try to push the discussion then you're a nazi. This is the natural conclusion of treating lived experience and anecdotes as gospel when the door swings one way, but going the other way suddenly statistics and generalizations are okay.

It matters a lot in tech.

The reason being, men have different interests than women, and this trend seems to be influenced by biology, at least in part.

I'm pretty open to the idea that society discourages women from certain fields. While it's not the only factor, I'm willing to believe that cultural mores make people get bitchy at you if you decide to cross meaningless gender lines. I can believe that's an influence.

But it's hard for me to take that theory seriously with programming because the entry barrier to programming is virtually nonexistent (in a first world country). And all the good programmers I know did everything they could to maximize their time programming or doing other computer shit. If a girl wanted to, she could do it easily. So the whole "math is a boys thing" idea doesn't hold water with me. If the girls really wanted it like we wanted it, they'd get it.

Furthermore, when women do get into tech, they have vastly different interests than guys do. Guys want to work on really hard technical projects. Really impressive shit, like achieving new compression ratios, or saving the company 10% on servers by optimizing the fuck out of some algorithm somewhere. Or working on the Linux kernel. It's like the equivalent of body building for nerds.

Women in tech get into social things. They try to solve some societal problem or they start new social networks or other projects like that. Which is fine. Different strokes.

Like, what percentage of engineers at Facebook are female who work on the content reporting system? And what percentage are female who worked on the Reason compiler? (which, btw, is an annoying language, BUT! it's a compiler, which takes some serious technical chops to work on)

I think you'd find virtually zero women who worked on Reason, and a solid chunk of women worked on the content reporting system.

But I don't think this is necessarily because of a difference in capabilities, just a difference in interest. Working on a compiler would be boring to most women.

Edit: Or actually, now that I think about it, maybe the hormones do contribute. I can't really think of many (or any, really), MTF trannies who've gone on to continue to do the same kind of heavy lifting, high tech work they used to do as a man.

This reminds me a lot of what Damore was accusing in his lawsuit. But the moment you bring that up, even if you disagree with some aspects of it, the usual suspects label you as a sexist and you get deplatformed.

Real women need to unite and refuse to compete against MTFs.
They would have to overcome the entirety of their socialization up to that point. I'm skeptical.

It is hard to measure the effect when women get harassed out of tech shit from the get go. They can't even really play video games online or have a twitter account about tech without a bunch of disgusting shit being said, so persevering past a casual interest into a career is more difficult. You have to love it far more than the average male dev to sign up for an endless barrage of dick and angry sexism just to write code. Ive heard the explanation that scandanavian societies are an adequate test of what happens when women are allowed to choose their interests, but I don't really buy that, they aren't utopias, and it is difficult to measure society wide sexism objectively. How much is biology is something that probably won't be known for sure without a real control to compare to. What is known is that stereotype threat reduces work performance, so reminding women over and over that there's a stereotype of women being poor devs isn't a great move at work imo. Not that google employs many biological females anyway, they hire troons to meet quotas and seem more progressive, but it turns into a clusterfuck of mentally ill employees.

That's the thing, coding is largely a solitary discipline. You don't sign up for anything. You download programs, read wikipedia and google. You don't talk to people or ask questions. You rerun the programs until they work. That's it.

That's why the sexism accusation is so silly. There's no one to be sexist to you in the first place.

Just a couple of years ago there was this public discussion if gay athletes should share the same facilities as "regular people", and now we've suddenly reached this point. It's like reality has turned into an absurdist nightmare. Hell, I'm starting to agree with the Muslims, the west is corrupt and perverted.
