Neil Breen - a thread about a rather infamous Filmmaker

To find actors, he used standard online casting calls and paid fair rates for non-union work, but his eccentricities are still apparent in these exchanges. Klara Landrat, who plays Dylan’s pill-addicted wife in Fateful Findings, informed me via email that he never gave the actors a full script, asking them to learn only their own scenes.

The only other time I've heard of actors not getting the full script was the 2017 Twin Peaks, but that was a show based in mystery and withholding information from the audience. I think it's safe to say Neil Breen is no David Lynch.

He's still mad about the Etsy thing.

Neil, according to your own website you literally aren't even selling two of your movies anymore. Either get your website(s) fixed, bring the other movies back on the market, or just deal with the fact that people want to watch your movies and will find other ways to do so.

I am fully supportive of him pulling all his movies from circulation, as exposure to them is a mental health hazard.

Here's a handy guide to help the uninitiated tell if it's an authentic Neil Breen product.

NOTE: Visit Breen's website and notice that no matter WHAT movie title you order, it will ALWAYS be Fateful Findings. You MUST embark on an exhausting treasure hunt to find the directions on how to request the other titles listed on the website.

1. Breen's Mary Sue protagonist (played by Breen natch) is employed as an astronautcomputerhackercowboyCEOexecutive aaaannd Mecha Jesus.
2. No less than TWO opportunities to feast your eyes on Breen's legendary ass/nude body. Puke bag not included with purchase.
3. Accompanied by mortified about to projectile vomit attractive female co-star.
4. Two dozen laptop computers from 1999 which are NOT plugged in.

5. I can't believe you've committed suicide, I CAN'T believe you committed suicide, how could you do this, how could you commit suicide, I can't believe you've done this, how could you have committed suicide.

This post was brought to you by Heinz and Chicken of the Sea.

His whole twitter is basically like this.

At least Tommy Wiseau can be brushed off as a weirdo from another country. Breen acts like he's from another planet.

I think that's what makes him so fascinating. He is worse than Wiseau in every aspect of film making and you can't even blame it on any kind of cultural divide. I sometimes wonder if he's doing it on purpose like it's a bit and he's playing a character. His first film came out a couple of years after The Room after all.

Apologies for the time delay on this.

Apparently Neil Breen "copyright struck" the YouTube channel Clobbering Time, who typically streams commentary about calls with To Catch a Predator predator Lorne Armstrong.

The timing was significant because it was just days before Lornemas, the anniversary of the day Lorne Armstrong showed up to the sting house to get confronted by Chris Hansen and then arrested.

I am almost certain Mr. Breen did not intentionally plan the timing like this but the end result was very unfortunate and further Clobbering Time said that he reached out to Mr. Breen to try to resolve the issue but that Neil refused to retract the strike.

This seems to refute the notion that Neil makes the movies for his own satisfaction, although I guess we don't know for sure what his motivation or intent was in issuing the strike.

I remember watching Fateful Findings and thinking the opening with the moving skull was actually pretty cool.

Casablanca had a basic script but they would also change things the day of and during filming.
