He went "viral" because his university did standard PR for a study he did and a bunch of media outlets ran it by copy-pasting the press release.

This guy has bragged for years on there about how once he got his PhD he'd be making six figures easily. He also has a bunch of threads about moving to other countries to flee Trump. Also claimed that all kinds of companies in Italy were demanding him but he couldn't live in a place without air conditioning.

We shouldn't forget that he was horribly abused by his ex who was a giant narcissist. He also has PTSD from all of his terrible life and goes at least twice weekly to therapy along with previously having couples therapy as well. And he hates Texas in part because it's so boring looking. Years of hilarious posts from this dude before his current food stamps and AI drama. People on there defended his buying and having endless amounts of electronics junk despite having no job and being $1 million in debt but his defense of AI is over the line!

There is a wealth gap between the special admin zones (hongkong, macau), Industrial hubs (guangdong, hengsha-bay, hubei), and their flyover provinces (basically everything to the northwest of Wuhan). People there have less disposable income in general.

But their market is just colossal as fuck, even if your product hits a >5% of their population then that's still probably more than Europe's population.

Recall that convoluted murder mystery post from a few months ago? When it was posted here, it inspired me to look into the guy and I found his reddit account. I found a post demonstrating the preparation he was doing for the ResetEra thread he would later post.

Eh, no offense but it's a bit of a dumb question if you put any thought into it. China is not a poor country. It's decidedly middle income. Moreover, it has a huge population. Most Chinese are far poorer than the average Westerner, yes, but there are still probably 100M+ Chinese who make the same or more than the average person in Europe or America.

Decided to actually look it up and approximately 140M Chinese make $50k USD, so there you go.

Still, obviously the mods are deranged for calling the question racist.
