(This doesn't even begin to cover all the extreme :autism: I've seen in small doses in the last few weeks, but I don't want to stare into the abyss for too long)
The videogame industry over decades has had to endure attacks from moral crusaders arguing that its products are capable of influencing people into committing real life violence and crimes. Games like Mortal Kombat, Manhunt and Grand Theft Auto III all faced calls of censorship and outright complete banning when they were first revealed to the world and ignited widespread debates over the merits of free speech and artistic integrity.
Numerous studies were made over the years and not a single one ever conclusively proved that the medium could compel people into having violent urges and acts. As a result, the game industry was able to withstand all the critics and eventually just like in other industries such as film and music the debates died down and developers were able to make and release the products they wanted (within reason). The industry thrived and has since become large enough to rival many of its other competitors.
Years since the debates died down VG 24/7 has wrote and published an article using the victims of the rich elites as a weapon to attack a bad anime trope. Well in extremely poor taste that would just make it a terrible article however the author goes a step farther:
"Furthermore, video games can influence a person’s views."
"When you have a game like Valkyria Chronicles 4 that contains a distinct lack of condemnation or consequence for such actions, you are setting a dangerous precedent."
With these two sentences what the author has done is pushed forward the long-dead narrative that videogames can negatively influence people's real-life behavior and has implied that Valkyria Chronicles 4 possesses the ability to make people commit real-life sexual assaults. Regardless of how you spin it however sexual violence is still violence and as the countless years of debates and studies has proven,
videogames do not possess the ability to cause real life violence.

To summarize the events, VG 24/7 -
a videogame website - published an article claiming that
videogames can cause violence and ResetERA -
a videogame website - has wholeheartedly endorsed it.
VG 24/7, Alicia Ha(r)ddick and ResetERA (and anyone else unironically sharing it) have completely destroyed whatever microscopic credibility they may have still had and at this point all 3 should be considered actually harmful to the industry by pushing a proven false narrative.
I have a launch PS4 and a PS4 Pro and the guy has a point - the Pro is embarrassingly loud.
Mine overheated and was super loud when I first bought it but clearing out everything I had stacked on and around it stopped that problem for me and it's worked perfectly fine since. Attempting to fix the problem is usually more efficient than saying fuck it and just flat-out replacing it each and every time.
