When they were talking about the Joe Rogan John Carmack interview, I was a bit mad at the internet because of their attitude to John Carmack.
How you could be a game dev and see Carmack as anything other than an inspiration? He's achieved so much both personally and for the industry.
DiaperCoder even scoffs at the idea of having a "life's work". I know it's a funny joke to say that ResetEra doesn't know what fun is, but I'm starting to think they have no concept of having a legacy or taking pride in what your doing.
I present this post without comment, because I've been sat here for several minutes trying to think of something to say and I can't.

Phantom Thief dead, Nibel bailing out... Great day.
Nibel was probably one of the worst mod/admin of the whole site.
Little story time : Nibel pretended to be a video game sale expert. He tried really hard to build a reputation and break into the industry of video game sales "analyst". He's quite close to ZhugeEx and Mat Piscatella. Nibel also spent a lot of time in Resetera sales thread, especially Media Create thread, a thread about japan sales.
2017 or so, Monster Hunter World is announced. Nintendo fans are mad. Everyone of those retards think the game would fail, Nibel being one of the most vocal about it, going as far as making graphs and shit. MHW released, 10 millions sales worldwide and Nibel still hasn't digested it. Afaik, he never talked about sales since then.

Everyone on Resetera needed bullied more. It seems to be the only thing that has a chance of curing some of this lunacy we're now seeing. Sure, it sometimes doesn't work and it goes the opposite way and people end up in straightjackets/dead, but I don't know what else could've made some of these autists more capable of handling the real world/growing out of their specialities.
Instead our generations have fully caved to the lunacy and treat everyone as if they are some victim that needs special attention and to always be listened to. So much so instead of a few lolcows, we have thousands who now go online and broadcast their madness to the world then act surprised when they get made fun of. Zero self-awareness and no experience of what it's like to get bullied in their teens for being exceptional.

That too, but the scary thing is many have parents. It's just their parents are either part of this lunacy or too lacking in the knowledge to know what their kids were/are still doing online.
How many parents are on the Farms keeping check of their crazy offspring? There needs to be more.
Though maybe some of the older generations of parents have just cut their children off. Wouldn't surprise me seeing as every Thanksgiving on Resetera it's some mass hysteria about who can punch their parents first or run out of the home screaming Orange Man Bad. Sometimes the owners of some of these children just decide fuck it, they're on their own and we don't care anymore.
If your child becomes a communist, joins Antifa and cuts their dick off, what can you really do? Say to yourself you failed at being a parent then cut them off and move on to try and live out the rest of your life. I guess.
Putting young children on hormone blockers is going to totally wreck the incoming generations too. We need to strap in, @Null is going to need more server capacity for the next 5~15 years. We aren't even at the final form yet.

So this DiaperCoder guy wrote something along the lines that crunch is nothing that you enjoy but you are something that you stuck with because of higher up's fuckups. In general - ok, but the funny thing is that as a matter of fact (at least as presented in Masters of Doom) Carmack does indeed enjoy crunch and working prolonged times. Also Carmack is/was able to keep focused for a very long times, which it is not easy at all, at least not at this level. And his games are his life work. But this is why Carmack has lifelong achievement awards, is inducted in Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences' Hall of Fame and is fucking icon in the industry. In contrast to him you have a Reeeera basic bitch and the best nickname he could come up with is 'DiaperCoder'.
Yeah, how Carmack is/was working is not for everybody, but not everybody will have his achievements.

I disagree. The worst thing you can do to a paranoid conspiracy theorist is validate their delusions by lying to them and covering it up. I think the same is true with ResetEra.
For all their made up stories of Trump's right wing nazi death squads patrolling the streets gunning down minorities and LGBT people, they would leap on anything remotely supporting their narrative.
If you've not seen the Joe Rogan interview, it's great. He mentions that there were/are valuable workers at id who don't crunch so they can spend time with family. Carmack mentions being able to concentrate for about 13 hours, and would fly out of state to work on a project away from distractions like family.
