New Earthworm Jim game made by the original team exclusive to Intellivision® Amico™ - Console that will never release gets a 5 second jogging animation

I used to play the one with the cows in between levels and I loved the (then) new EW Jim trailer and was shocked to see all the negative comments about it on YT (was it? don't remember).

- Yes, but afaik that bitch had no real bearing on the game itself. She was just the canary in the coal mine.
- Tight budget/cuts happened because these retards also promised a working game across 8 wildly different platforms
- The people actually developing MN9 weren't involved in that Red Ash shit, Comcept itself was more or less a glorified Idea Guy who could only really exist by pitching more and more shit on kickstarter, but they failed to explain this properly. Same thing happened with Balan Wonderland, they just thought up the game and outsourced the real work to another company.
- Again, a result of having to develop for every fucking platform out there, game is made with lowest common denominator in mind.
- Fun fact on that, Inafune didn't actually say it, it was Ben Judd putting words in his mouth, not that it really changes anything, because it just goes to show how hilariously bad communication was on their end, it's just something to note because Ben Judd has an amusing history of his own(Getting fired from his own company for Sexual Harassment iirc, making Bionic Commando 2009)
Kamiya put it best when he said Inafune was a business man, not a creator.

Bionic Commando 2009 is a weird game because it had an awkward reception and now it's considered a good game by a few people like Terminator Salvation did.

I thought you meant Bionic Commando Rearmed which is the one that plays like the 2D original which is a fantastic game. But if you're talking about the other one with the dude-bro with dreads then you're wrong. That game was awful.

Yeah it's the Realistic one that almost seemed like it took inspiration from prince of persia.

I never really cared for it myself but the influx of people now praising the PS3 and 360 era as a golden age caused a bunch of weirdos to graft to whatever shit was on there.

Like goddamn get some fucking standards.

i saw ZERO software developers mentioned in any of this.

they bag the programmers and shove them in the closet as usual.
if they pay you, suddenly you have to hide behind a magic curtain while the people that paid you take your fame and credit.

PS they are still remaking everything and not original. fucking fags.

Why would anyone think that a developers who made a good game in the 90s would have the skills to make a good game in 2019?
there were no software or game developers mentioned in the video.
who hired these people is looking for their game console to be sold and advertised so that's exactly why they picked the successful 90's business advocates and not anyone modern.

the only people that were listed are people that help sell the game and direct it.
none of them did work on any actual games. none of them made game assets.

they helped released the games in terms of business and sales, not in terms of programming and design.
none of these people are developers.

when you see that those two people worked for "pokemon" they were not the design or programming for it in any way, they only helped market it.

Steve Jobs was a marketer he never designed any of the hardware his company is known for. It's the same logic.

I don’t remember it being inundated with negativity when it was shown, but if it was, there were probably two major reasons. 1. This new game is exclusive to a platform that was always shaky. Even before the current situation, the Amico was seen as something akin to the Ouya or Coleco Chameleon.
2. The creator of Earthworm Jim is not exactly a friend to the LGBT community, who are known to be extremely online and therefore more prone to post about hating a trailer.

This is what happens with every generation. Faggots grow a weird emotional attachment to the "era" they grew up in, and before you know it medicore shit becomes amazing shit.

What's funny is that I grew up with the 5th and 6th Gen and my nostalgia lies with the 90s era games.

Part of that is due to sheer convenience though but I haven't touched a single PS1 game in the last decade besides the original Resident Evils.

I can forgive someone having fondness for that era, but to call it a golden age? It was a downgrade over the prior gen and in some ways the gen after it was better (but not entirely)

It peaked early on when the rules were not yet written and we got stuff like Dead Rising and Bioshock, by the time of 2009-2013 things had gotten pretty lame despite some real standouts, but not enough to make it a "golden age"

It's hilarious because all I ever saw at the time was /v/ types and Yahtzee types complain how much they hated almost everything that gen.

Is it not the same generation but people who were kids at the time viewing that gen that way?

I'm sure soon we'll be seeing faggots saying the Minecraft/FNAF era was gaming's golden age which... 🤮

Oh you poor thing....

Considering how many horror games are desperately trying to replicate FNAF's success, Poppy Playtime being the most recent example, i'm fully convinced that nowadays FNAF is widely considered the gold standard in the horror genre. To me, stuff like Dead Space or classic Silent Hill are not coming back.

They already are out there, I'm pretty sure.

It's happening with everyone here too. There's a reason I think Super Metroid is the best Metroid, and Prime and Fusion fans get buthurt when I say it. The trick is to not become beholden to your biases. I like Super Metroid, but I understand why people who didn't grow up with it don't and prefer Prime and Fusion.

There's a friend of mine who's only 4 years younger than me that cannot understand how anyone enjoyed any Resident Evil before 4. He thinks they're all absolute dog shit, and it's because he started with 4 and played it for years before even trying a classic RE. I don't get upset though, because tank controls would be fucking awful for someone who never got used to them.

It's too easy to get upset at games for being different instead of things that actually make them bad.

Oh, I'm well aware FNAF is already seen as a nostalgic property, which is nuts to me, seems like just yesterday that first game came out and scared the shit out of everyone, but that's just me, the game is almost the better part of a decade old now and if you were a kid at the time it'd be a long time ago to you.

A lot of people's whining is based on something being different, not necessarily better or worse.

I'm pretty forgiving when it comes to games, but I just hate the tone you see in this Woke era, you're playing something knowing that the developers don't want you to be their audience.

Could you give some examples? I never got the feeling people didn't want me playing their game (although I never did play TLOU2) just that they have really shitty ideas of what sells.

This game seems to officially be dead now. They removed all of the footage from the Intellivision Youtube channel that wasn't part of a larger video. This might not be related, but the animated series was also removed from Tubi earlier this month.

If the new cartoon gets picked up they could make a game to tie-in with it, but I can't see TenNapel having anything to do with it.
