Let me give an accurate review (and I don't even need to play the game).

Are you desperate for Pokemon game? Sure, get the game. Are you not obsessed with Pokemon? Buy literally anything else. Only X Factor is if you liked Legends and if you did and don't mind spending 60/70 bucks, go ahead I guess. We've done this song and dance enough. Its going to be the same low quality that has been indicative of Pokemon games on the Switch. You've seen the footage of the new battle system (which isn't much different from the last one). You know how this game is going to progress. The only actual question that matters is "How much do you like Pokemon" Its clearly not a bump in quality so, again, the only factor that matters is your love of Pokemon.

First things first, chill. I do not mean to ruffle feathers but this is not helping. I do not care for the opinion of those who forgive everything their favorite company does nor about the opinion of those who say something sucks without explaining their opinion clearly and in detail. I do not care about haters or fanboys. I am just frustrated by all those that ruin discourse. If you have nothing to say, then do not.

Secondly, I told everyone not to buy the S2 at launch in order to teach Nintendo a lesson. That did not happen and here we are. That battle was lost.

Lastly, I have yet to play PLA so I am interested in trying the battle system, which is partly why I said what I said.

I am very much a normie that likes Pokemon. That is why I want to cut through the haters and fanboys to get clearer opinions. I do not care how one thinks that IT IS THE BESTEST EVAR! or how IT SUCKS BALLS AND KILLED MY DOG! I just want multiple analytical opinions and discussions with people that know what they are doing. It's the same slop you've been served for decades. I can even tell you how the new game will be. It will have 100 new Pokemon. Most of them won't hold a candle to earlier ones. The game will look outdated. It won't have any voice acting so every scene will be awkward. There will be a battle gimmick. There will be a place where you make food. You will beat X number of gyms. It will take you maybe 40 hours to beat and then you never play it again because you are chasing the high you got as a kid playing Pokemon. And I will tell you the same thing I did now. Do you love Pokemon? You will enjoy Gen 10. Do you not care about Pokemon? Then don't bother.

I am not the kind of person that plays every Pokemon game. I pick and choose and some times I choose wrong. I have skipped a few and bought others. Which is why I am asking for opinions. "It is just like Xenoblade!" Anyone who has played two Xenoblade games will tell you that this statement means nothing. It is like saying that every 2D fighter plays and feels EXACTLY like Street Fighter 2. You know they know nothing. Xenoblade games feel different from one another. And yes, I know that Pokemon games have a formula. I asked how well it was implemented in here. If you have a problem with what a Pokemon game is then they were never for you. That is fine. FPS games are not for me because I can't seem to hit an elephant at 3 yards. I do not act like my review on an FPS game should be taken seriously though.

If all you have to say is "Watch the trailer", then you add nothing to the conversation. I can watch a trailer on my own, thank you very much. You sure speak a lot or someone who has ABSOLUTELY nothing to say.

I would have been satisfied with being linked some reviews from trusted reviewers (trusted by those that linked the reviews that is). Some that liked it, some that didn't, some that had fun but see there is room for improvement etc etc. Varied opinions to make an informed purchase. Impartial opinions would have been nice.

As for the Megas, they are hit or miss for me. Even the old ones. People tend to look upon the old designs with rose tinted glasses. Remember M-Garchomp, M-Audino and M-Camerupt? Not exactly the best looking or in utility. That being said, more bad ones in the new batch than in the previous ones.

Game Freak was always put together with string. They just had a better coat of paint before. You did not notice it because you were a kid. ZA will probably be the last new Pokemon game I will buy for a while though I will play PLA one day. As far as Gen 10 goes, I just might skip it. I already skipped Gen 8 as I was not impressed by the things I saw. The story and legendries were bad. If Gen 10 ends up as heavy handed with its message as it looks like, that will be bad.

* Selling the same game twice with minor differences between them and some content locked behind the other game. It is amazing everyone takes it as something normal, imagine any other non-Nintendo series doing it (since Nintendo did it with Fire Emblem).
* Reducing the amount of previous gen Pokemon to sell them later at DLC.
* Making the card game a scalper heaven.
* Having the game be atrociously balanced, even gachas have better balance than this shit.
* Consistent worsening of pokemon design.
* Character design is now corporate style genderless blobs with Body Type.
* Atrocious graphics and performance.

Is that a fair assessment? Sure they could beat the game in 17 hours and maybe they loved that aspect of being able to speedrun it. But is a normal person getting it done in 17 hours?

You can beat Myst in a minute but you don't have to. And if you can, it would also be a neat little perk.

Nope, I do not accept the "kids' game can be less polished" argument. Skyrim was in a ton of consoles and Fallout 76 was the worst game they made. Pokemon got away with some things they shouldn't have but that is because Nintendo fanboys and haters are the exact same people and cannot give criticism without sperging and REEEEEEEing.
