Hello,
I need some advice.

I want to buy my fiancee a present for xmas and I'm looking for advice on whether I should get a switch 1, switch 2 or steamdeck.

She's a woman, so loves the sim city/theme hospital kind of games and she's a nerd, so she loves empire building 4x kind of games like settlers, aoe, command and conquer et al.

This is primarily for her and while neither of us are into solo racing games, kicking each others arse on a kart racer would be fun.

Any genuine suggestions welcome. Cheers.
steam deck, not even a question. tons of city builders on steam and it's easy to get working

Some of this stuff is actually for the Switch 1 and from what I've heard, there might be some issues running it. But that genre never really took off on the nintendo consoles and only the old shit is being released on it.

You'll actually be better off getting an Steam Deck instead of just waiting for something interesting to pop up on the Switch 2
Well, the majority is actually grown ups in their 20s to 40s that plays on nintendo, not children. Still nintendo treat everyone as babies and spoon feed their player base.
Yeah, but do you really think that they'll be content with shit like this?

They added Chudjak to the game.

The game looks fine, them putting retarded fred armisen in the game is depressing, I will have to play with voice acting off I guess.
Watched the Prime overview trailer. Looks dope. But need to play through the first three games.
Eh, there's not like some story or a complicated set of mechanics to master, Prime 1 and 2 are great, play them on primehack if you can.

Let’s just hope that the character that the previews have been complaining about is only for a couple missions.

I was worried they weren't going to bring back the ability to jump, thanks Retro

The character of Miles seems insufferable, and the quirk chungus writing is straight out of the MCU and doesn't fit. People are trying to defend aspects like that by saying "The budgets for these big games are starting to get so large that they need to appeal to a wider demographic to justify the cost, what with Nintendo expanding into film!"

It's dire when critiques of a game are met with people defending the game by talking like market analysts instead of people who still have souls.

Not one aspect of the upcoming Metroid Prime game appeals to me. Fucking mappy on the famicom seems more engaging than this. Tbh I've felt this way about a lot of Nintendo games released on the switch, don't really know how to explain it.

Idk how people can complain about A.I trying to take their jobs when they write this kind of sterile stuff to where a computer can perfectly make it and you'd never tell the difference. This type of character and writing is everywhere and it's never not annoying. It's not even unique because it never was.
