I can't understand why anyone would be exited for this drek. I'm not going near anything Pheobe Waller-Bridge writes.
She was mainly hired to do a pass on a finished script to round out the female characters' dialogue. I wouldn't be concerned.

Full stop, James Bond could only ever be an Anglo-Saxon and Celtic British lady's man and nothing else. James Bond can not be James bond if he's anything other than that.

Lynch's comments are stupid. She like many who weigh in on Bond being a non-white male are missing the central aspect of him being a character. A person. There is a history and a legacy to him as a character. He is not just an archetype of a character. I get that a lot of people just see Bond as an archetype of a secret agent character but they seriously don't understand why the Bond legacy exists. It's now multigenerational as a stable where this character and his floating timeline is a constant and a comfort.

When/if they make him black, they will irreparably damage the brand of James Bond. As it will shift him over to just being nothing more than an archetype and not a character. Bond will no longer be special. He will no longer be the character, he'll just be a generic secret agenda character in the mould of Bond. I know there's been variation and inconsistency in the onscreen representations, but we as an audience are sophisticated enough to understand that. It's still a version of the same character. Changing the race is a step too far. Especially in current-day politics where we're told being colour blind is racist. I hope that when/if they do make him black. There is backlash from black people and the "anti-racists."

"Black people deserve their own characters."
"It's not an achievement to cast a black guy as a white guy."

Aside from all the woke shit, does anyone else think that Craig has been playing Bond for too long at this point?

Even if we weren't living in this age of woke garbage, I'd be thinking "Can somebody else take the baton now? I'm kind of done".
This is his last no for realsies this time you guys. It’s not like when we said Quantum of Solace was his last movie, or how Spectre was his last movie no for real for real this time guys.

He may not have the most appearances as Bond, but he’s sure as shit been Bond for too long. I’m just waiting for the inevitable picketing for either Idris Elba or Tom Hardy.

He's been Bond for too long for thirteen years. I'm generally a big fan of Roger Moore's Bond movies but even he was Bond for too damn long by the last one. And even that was only a timespan of twelve years.

This thread here reminds me of the time people said Bond would never be relevant anymore because the URSS don't exist anymore, or that they put a blond guy to play the role, or that one time when they decided to hire a completely unknown asshole to play the character in a depressive and grit film.

Guys, Bond will always survive, in the world outside nobody gives a flying fuck about niggers.

Bond should not be in his 50s. It's gross as hell and unrealistic. At the very least if they aren't going to use younger actors they could limit the amount of damn movies. A Craig trilogy would have been more than enough. It's not the twentieth century anymore; audiences are savvy and understand the need to recast.

Craig aged so bad. He makes 1985 Roger Moore look spry and energetic.

Q on the other hand should be old and ornery as hell and not look like he stepped off the set of an iPad commercial.
Random opinion, but I think it would have been interesting to have Chris Hemsworth play the role of the new James Bond.
Lazenby ruined any chances of them picking an Australian again.
