Memoirs are a legitimate genre. I don’t see how opening up about it is being ‘commercialized,’ especially for a subject matter the majority of people find barbaric. I doubt many of the people here have even bothered to watch her documentary or any of its complementary materials.

I feel like some of you are giving Lindsay too much credit with the "She should have had kids" and "she and her minions have been behind all the shitty pop culture".

1) No one should want this person around children. Her not having children is one of the best decisions she has made. Cooking her goose was an act of mercy.
2) She doesn't have that much power. Despite networking fairly well and coming from one of the first crops of well known online reviewers , she only broke a million subs a year and a half ago. Her "shadow queen of the SJW's" thing was pure fantasy. She was never a, let alone the, public face of feminism or leftism or trans liberation or whatever she claimed. (Neither was Anita, btw). She was a useful dipshit who sporadically pumped out some good content and was idolized by not even terminally online tumblrinas, but just a subsection of them. Sure, she WANTED to be the face of all these things. She never had the charisma, instincts, looks, or wherewithal for it.
3) She's a mentally ill, alcoholic with borderline tendencies, if not a full blown personality disorder. If she hadn't hitched her wagon to the woke brigade, she'd be a cringey Bible Thumper or a cringey, right wing edgelord or a cringey reality TV hopeful. If she weren't being devoured by the wokies, it would be her church friends who whisper about her drinking in the confessionals, or she'd be in some sort of dipshit war with Ethan Ralph and Jeremy Hambly, or having a drink thrown in her face.

The one thing Lindsay got right in her totally for real good-bye letter is that you have to be seriously mentally impaired to earnestly seek a life as a public figure, especially as an internet personality.

When she came out, her whole schtick was "hurr female nostalgia critic here!" and wasn't even attractive. Most of her shit was deadpan delivery with forced humor as if she had to exude some semblance of a personality to try and appeal to anyone. Then she included her fat best friend, Nella or whatever her name is, to seem more fuckable which is pretty despicable. Then she strung Todd along, used other TGWTG contributors, took a shit on Doug, disavowed everyone associated with the website and still somehow retained and GREW popularity. The power of the pussy is amazing no matter what it is found on.

I honestly believe she is hitting the bottle again because her book sales slumped bad and the carefully constructed lie that is her marriage and life is starting to fail. Just a matter of time before her bipolar ass is in the headlines again for everyone to laugh at heartily while morons like Mara Wilson will be there to defend her.

She went downhill as soon as she did that whole Dark Nella saga, which was long and drawn out, and annoying. That was the first time I finally noticed how annoying she was. Then she started involving her friends more and more, and it honestly didn't help her. That was years before the Channel Awesome attack. Edit: correction, that was way back in 2011, so it was a long time coming and she hasn't been good since then.
