Those are just the basic rules word for word even the US server has. Going to assume the server you visited was also low roleplay, and had the No erotic roleplay rule(thank god).

But yeah the little I played is fine, it's lacking a ton of stuff, but it is still just in early alpha so it's expected. Everyone I've met on US servers have been very chill.
Nah, some guy said nigger and one person wrote a long paragraph about how offended they were, and how it wasn't appropriate, and then the person that said it got lynched. The EU server seems cucked as fuck. Still better than the current TG build though, they've added a wordfilter now so you can't even say nigger, and it checks for spelling mistakes and doesn't let you speak with any. Which means that on a server of fifty people, no one was talking.

The TG coders have unironically bolt gunned their own game because they're but hurt trannies.

EDIT: SS14 looks groovy though right now, I really wanna see if they'll let people make their own contributions, I'd be down for trying to help it.

What's up with SS14? Looks like a gated, closed source SS13... Which is technically not allowed?
It's basically a Space station 13 port on a better game engine. It's in the closed beta stage, but is planned to be open and free to play (and no not that kind of F2P) later down in its development.

Short answer: There's so many drama-mongering shitters lurking and waiting for a brand new server to shit up one way or another that it murdered the original Kiwi playerbase and made Null go "Fuck this shit, I'm never running another server again".

You want a new server, you make and fund it yourself. So far, nobody wants to do this either after seeing how Kiwistation tore itself apart.

I don't know the whole story actually.

I've only seen youtube videos of this game, come away from them not quite understanding what the fuck I just watched, but determined to play it. Though, sadly, I still never have.

Just know that the majority of the stories in YouTube videos are highlights from multiple rounds. Majority of the early game is a tedious learning process which can range from days of trial and error, to only a couple minutes, depending on which job you choose. In some jobs you're almost guaranteed to die if you fuck up, which makes learning them especially hard. Each server has their own version of the game, with differing rules, mechanics, codebases, player bases, and always braindead tranny jannies. Some servers are honeypots of degeneracy, while some are only a little shit. None of the servers are genuinely good. They can never be good. Not now, not with the current state of the player base and community. The complexity, and strain that hosting a server demands, has halted any would be pioneers from creating their own ideal server, not to mention that people need to want to play on your server in the first place.

I'm tired of servers banning 'hate speech' and antags from murderboning.

Yea I'm a corporate spy willing to kill a head of command... So I have no reason to take out the roboticists who build an army of heavily armed gygaxes.
