Blood Brothers should get some form of TC or other traitor gear, even if it's greatly reduced from normal traitor items. I've had situations where my Blood Brother is SSD/retarded/doesn't do the objective/doesn't talk or coordinate with me at all and is just a general shitter, etc, and it's crippling.

Blood Brother as a antag type is very interesting but in execution, it's incredibly wonky. If you have two tough people as each other's Blood Brother, then the pair can fairly casually rip through most anyone or anything (bar a properly coordinated Sec department or one person with insanely robust equipment, and skills to match) in what is probably one of the most fun antag types. However, if one Blood brother is a dumbass and one is competent, they're much weaker than a traitor, and if both blood brothers are incompetent, then they don't even have equipment or each other (most likely) to make them any more threatening than a retarded self-antag.

I found this while on an excursion for kiwi-station based salt on the reddit.
What an absolute madman.

This server is borderline unplayable as it's the downstream for all the shitters banned even from /tg/ and hippie. There are more self-antags than actual antags and nobody plays Security.

I wouldn't say it's that bad.

I think security is pretty shit to play as simply because there's no weight to it. If someone tries mugging me as security the most I can reasonably give them for slipping and cuffing me is like ten minutes; whereas they can do all but murder and hide my body. Once my sec ID and gear is gone that's it for the round essentially as the shitter will just use it to be even shit.

If non antags were punished by admins for engaging security without a reason then it'd probably be more playable as a role. Or of they bring back tasers and instant stun batons. But by the same merit security should really be obeying space law. If you give them more power, then they need to be held to higher standards. Security being the only ones allowed to escalate should in turn mean they should have a good dammed reason for escalating. From what I've seen playing as Kiwisecurity, it's a toss up between incompetent and psychotic when it comes to officers.

Also as a general note I feel like there should be an explanation of what picking a job means when you log in. For example I've legit lost count of the number of assistants I've seen breaking into secure areas, that they 'reeeeee' like fuck when they're gunned down because 'I wasn't doing anything bad!' The ID access is there for a reason, and if you don't have ID access you shouldn't be in a place. By that same standard, adding random ID access to your job and wandering into the armoury still means I'm going to shoot you, it just means I'm gonna take away your ID as well because you shouldn't have that access.

Security is shit for a couple of reasons, and here's why nobody plays as Sec
1: You have no license at all to be a shitter.
Assistants are basically "A for Antag" in my experience of things. Other roles will often be shitters, but as Sec, you are beholden to not just start murdering people off the cuff for no reason. Nobody else is under that same restriction. Ahelping, the supposed ultimate weapon against the shitters, does nothing. I have ahelped every single round I have played on kiwi for the past five rounds. (Last round I played, two Heads, an Assistant, and the Chaplain were all total shitters.)
2: You have weak as shit gear.
The stun baton is pretty weak. After one hit, a couple of seconds later someone falls over. That's more than enough time for them to kill you or get into a hard to reach place to wait out their tiny knockdown. The disabler needs four shots to put someone down and has maybe twelve shots, I haven't counted. Pepper spray is situational and most people wear gas masks anyway. Flashes are okay. Energy bola are somewhat useful. The only good thing Security has, the only thing they have that isn't just immediately outclassed by something a random person in Medical or Engineering could make for themselves, is their armor. Contractors have stun batons that shit all over your own, because their stun batons actually work.
(Heads also have the shitty telebaton, which is basically worthless as someone can just get up after the first hit and kill, but heads usually also have things like flamethrowers, poisons, or real guns.)
3: Space Law
If some shitter is a total shitter and you don't find antag gear on them, you have to put them in the box and let them sit for five minutes. If they win the fight, you die and they hide your corpse.
4: Reliance on others
I cannot tell you how many times on /tg/ station I as a sec officer watched all other officers be total retards and run off alone and die. Sec comms are frequently taken from empty lockers and most officers don't seem to want to coordinate at all. Screaming futilely over :S as everyone runs off one by one and dies is one of the most frustrating experiences in SS13 as it isn't your fault that the station is getting fucked.
5: You're horribly outnumbered
Even if you did coordinate, almost nobody plays as security for the above reasons, and it's only a matter of time before the shitters beat you to death and steal your gear.

I'm genuinely considering going to a real MRP server with more admins because having more self-antags than actual antags is annoying as shit. If the admins want this level of chaos, bump up the threat level so that everyone has a chance to antag. Don't let the retards who were too autistic and antagonistic to not get banned from /basil/ be the ones having the most fun.

Yeah...I basically agree; I don't think it's unplayable bad, but I play weird hours anyways.

I like playing sec when it's reasonably high sec, and there's some low level shittery. But kiwi seems to be a reverse, security really does need their tasers and decent batons back; preferably with loyalty firing pins in them. The disarm intent is retardely robust. But that was a problem even on /tg/

It's unplayable bad if you're a Head or the AI or some other important role, which I seem to be. Because Heads are prioritized I am almost always the Chief Engineer, to the point where I have three times as many hours as Chief Engineer than I do any other role. Despite this, I've rolled antag maybe twice or three times.

It's genuinely unfair feeling to see six or seven people act like antagonists, for one or two people to actually be antagonists, and I sit there (usually, I had one shitter incident) following the rules and watching everything go to shit instantly.

Especially when shitters try to randomly murder me, which has happened multiple times. They're never antags, by the way. Only one antag has ever tried to kill me, and that was for his objective. Multiple shitters have tried to kill me. (When I was captain, CE tried to kill me by teleporting me into the supermatter. When I was CE, an engineer tried to kill me by walling off the supermatter while I was making repairs to it as it got lit on fire. They admitted to metagrudging me, which made no sense. Sure, I can be a bit abrasive IC but I don't think I'm bad. (I was asking what they were doing building a shower and some form of chemical apparatus in the supermatter, they did not respond and got hostile. As I dismantled it, the supermatter door, which they bolted open, let some ductwork fly into the supermatter, and the resultant energy lit everything on fire. Ahelping again did nothing.)

Yeah, that's pretty shit. There's a few that always try and mug me for AA when I'm the HoP which is fucking infuriating.

can sec get an omnilathe/golem lathe? it's really useful for building shit in sec, for wardens n shit. usually wardens just roam their wage cage and do nothing BUT

omnilathe gives them tools
omni imprinter, if added, gives them machines
warden can improve the brig
warden has something to do other than guard the armory and spank it to felinids gone wild

Just kill them. Don't fuck around with cuffs, just instantly kill them and toss their bodies in your HoP locker. Act like an antag, get treated like an antag.

My problem with that is that they basically just run right up while I'm in the halls, slip/stun/flash me, and then it's game over once you're stunned. There's no real defence against a lunatic with a stun weapon except to be a lunatic yourself. I can't just go around Egunning everyone that gets within 5 tiles (much as I want to), so I normally make a spare access and ID console card and try security (no security tho).

HoPs have glasses in their locker, take those for immunity to flashes. As for slips/stuns, I can't help there other than advise a scooter for immunity to most forms of slip. You can make one by building a scooter frame out of metal rods, adding metal, and then adding metal rods again.

I'm a Burger who isn't a NEET, and late night playing has been miserable. Last two nights I tried to play, miners immediately take ore processing to Lavaland, and in the first five minutes I'm killed by someone called Greasy Steve(at least the first time I know he was antag cause he had an Esword, second time I'm not so sure), command/AI help assist them knowing they're antag, and I either just quit the round or let it run in the back ground for 15-20 minutes until a ghost role pops up.

It's getting to a point where I'm only going to try to play on my days off if I'm not doing anything.

You can also take a secway.

You can also take a secway.
Secways need armory access and while secways do block projectiles and also sometimes interfere with melee attacks, going into the armory without need is the sort of behavior that I want to avoid in spessmans. The last time I went into the armory, I was carrying nuke disk and thought there were nukies. (Turns out I got faked out and it was a tator running a fake nukie set, which was fucking hilarious as I just slammed the shuttlecall as soon as I possibly could and bolted.)

the biggest problem i seem to find as the person who almost certainly plays the sec the most on server is that during late hours in burgerstan there are 10-14 players, you will have like six assistants, a miner, a cook, two botanist, a science man, and maybe if your lucky an engineer, most rounds i find myself HoS, HoP, and the only person doing medical, I am more than robust for your average selfantag, but like a rock on the beach, I eventually fall to the tide of retards destroying the station.

the HoS personal laser is a must have for any sole sec, nobody seems to be able to handle getting stunned (probably because nobody on the server is used to it yet), if they tried to kill me for any reason at all i then use my energy gun to dispose of them followed by either gibbing or chucking them into space. if not brigged until I can get backed to them. space law is not my concern, stopping you from killing half the crew is, it takes me like 5 minutes to revive a person if they are not fucked up completely and they never leave the corpses in one piece.

if I had it my way every sec would have a taser and energy gun/shotgun. the number of retards that chimp out whenever sec does anything to preserve their own life makes the game into hotline miami. I am writing a paper for would be sec on the station because this is enough of a problem that this is no longer as fun as it once was

So many self antags, it's all the time. It's fucking hell. Half the station are assistants who do nothing and nobody ever plays Command.
Getting to be a real antag is a fun treat, though.

Most of the self-antags are faggots who aren't even from the Farms anymore, they're just a bunch of shitters banned from /tg/.

I joked a few times about bringing back Steelsec.

But for real, steelsec would be an improvement over what we have now. Disablers become M1911's, riot shotguns are combat shotguns, Eguns are SMG's. All with loyalty firing pins.

I didn't even know custom food was added back until I saw this. Amazing.
I got smashed by the guy with the Tesla armor and the Gloves Of The North Star, that was a fun round to mostly observe.

>Be Chemist, deciding to take a shift to experiment with grenades.
>Make one grenade. I think it sets people on fire both from the inside out and the outside in. It's a nice grenade.
>Gun appears in my hands. It's a fucking pulse rifle. Thank you, based wizard.
>Yell "Wizard".
>Wizard runs about for a while but eventually gets mashed.
>Whatever
>Go about fixing people up and waving my pulse rifle about like a lunatic, keeping it strapped to my back. Backpacks are for nerds and there are shitters, killing someone in three shots is useful.
>Get a good virus, get a bad virus, cure the bad virus, get a good virus again. Also get nanites.
>Midround ling as the shuttle is called
>Stealth sting a few people. I don't think I have time to do my objectives
>Shuttle arrives, a ton of people go up to the shuttle bridge, as per usual
>Activate my grenade and let it detonate
>The entire bridge is filled with smoke and fire.
>Stumble out and shoot three people to death with my pulse rifle
>Rush about and kill a few more like a lunatic, because changeling.
>Only reveal armblade at roundend.
>Spend EORG killing everyone as admemes ban a bunch of shitters. Eventually kill everyone and hack myself to pieces over and over again.
>Be a changeling with a pulse rifle, nanites, and a beneficial virus.
>The grenade was super simple and worked quite well, here's the recipe:

1: 40 phosphorous, 60 napalm
2: 20 potassium, 20 sugar, 40 sulphuric acid, 20 stable plasma
That turns out to 60u napalm, 60u phlogistion, and some smoke with excess sulfuric acid.
People burn from the inside out and outside in, and everyone is blinded by the smoke.
It's a great grenade and you can make it super quickly
