What the christ are high heels even? This is absolutely ridiculous and I hurt my feet just looking at ones that are like that.

Those are stripper platforms.
High heels are for special occasions, otherwise even high end Manolos are bad for your feet and joint, imo.

Western boots, if you can get them fitted by a pro, are ridiculously utilitarian with great support.

Much as I appreciate A Diciannoveventitre, these or any pair is more than the rent.

Incoming autistic rant about Irregular Choice

Okay, Irregular Choice does have some ugly shoes like this:

For the Disney shoes specifically, I think the brand was too on the nose and not subtle enough. If I were to design a Snow White shoe specifically, I would make a heel that looks the apple and have the rest of the shoe have a floral print and nothing else. I think most people could connect the dots. Instead, the brand tends to beat you over the head with the concept. That said, I did buy some things from there recently that don’t look as over the top:

There are Velcro parts on this bag so you don’t have to see all of the dwarves. As such, the bag mostly just looks like a fun cottage at first glance. Part of the reason the detail isn’t so bad on here is because it’s a bag and not a shoe. Shoes can only take so much detail before it is overdone. Bags have more surface area to work with than shoes as well, so bigger details aren’t as overwhelming either.

For the most part, these shoes look like normal bow heels except for the rainbow glitter.

All that said, I really do like some of the designs from Irregular Choice, but I think that their simpler concepts are better and more wearable overall.

If you are wearing that whole look, I can see the Irregular Choice working, some are cute and cool fantasy shoes. Even those duck heeled shoes could be fun if they were just the magenta contrast and the heels. All the other stuff is too much. Even though I’d never wear, would be totally fun for cosplay. I’ll have to see if they have any sailor moon.

I bought the Kilties I wanted but the heel is very heavy and makes it hard to walk in., surprisingly. It’s not a tall heel so not sure what that’s about.

There’s nothing on my want list except a pair of comfortable black pointed pumps. Simple. Don’t think they make any. I had the perfect Kors pair that ate my foot just walking through parking lots. Gotta sell them. Anybody buy or sell from Poshmark, can you make money?

Irregular Choice isn't my thing. Not only do most of the shoes look tacky to me ... But they look flimsy and uncomfortable.

That Snow White cottage bag is super cute though, and I really do like the color palette of those glitter heels.

As far as novelty shoes go they are reasonably well-built, but comfortable they are NOT; while the heels feel sturdy, they like to do that bullshit with smooth soles on some models. There are definitely some shoes in their line that are purely for decoration.

I have a pair I've affectionately nicknamed my "glamour princess shoes", but they are built to such a severe angle (nearly pinup poster style) that you really can't comfortably walk reasonable distances without severe discomfort. Sitting down or abbreviated standing, though... they will make anyone look marvelous if they don't snap their ankles first.

The shoe gods were apparently very happy with my today because it didn't take me an hour to find boots that fit. I mentioned having weird shaped feet earlier in the thread, my running shoes have to be special ordered for me but thankfully the sports store I go to is awesome. I've been to shoe stores where the employees looked about ready to hang themselves after helping me. But today I went to DSW and found boots I liked right away and fuck me they actually fit. They're Steve Madden which is a brand I've had before and liked. The ultimate test is if I can skateboard in them comfortably.
Boot in question, plus my cat. He likes to sleep on my shoes.

As the weather is starting to cool off, I have the stupidest of shoe-related first world problems. My summer non-slip shoes are TOO GOOD. I tried going back to my normal warmer work boots this week and I felt super insecure walking around, even though they are also non-slip rated. My feet also hurt more at the end of the day, but I think that points more towards needing to break down and finally put some real insoles in my boots. Related: if you need legit non-slip shoes, I highly recommend Klogs Footwear's Moxy line.

Also one of my fucking cats peed indirectly on my favourite pair of perfectly broken-in Blundstone work boots. A droplet got on the elastic, and I have a growing suspicion that my careful attempts to sponge enzyme cleaner on the spot will end up being in vain. I'm still pisssed at him.

Maybe try diluted apple cider vinegar? It works for some. My cat is dearly beloved but she’s a horrible daughter and pissed directly into one of my Keds sneakers and those stupid memory foam insoles held onto that piss smell no matter what I did, but for a smaller spot it might just work. Also, could give Angry Orange enzyme cleaner a shot. Didn’t try it on shoes, but it worked when aforementioned cat pissed on the couch. Best of luck >>

Ooh. There may be hope! I am literally going to go try apple cider vinegar right now. Crossing my fingers!

I confess to having a few pairs of gaudy IF shoes. As far as cheep heels go, they're not bad quality.

My girlfriend got me these Jordan 4 "What The" for Xmas. Won't get them until after Xmas though :( lol she reckons they're really good quality leather and they look heaps better in person.

I copped her some random react 55s and have a pair of Nike ID air max 90s (Nike by you) on order, but I'm not sure if they'll make it here by xmas.
I won't show the design for privacy reasons :)
