Paganism and the Occult - Ouija boards, sage smudging, and hexes, oh my!

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
Do you got any sources for it? I would love to research it and there is nothing online I can find that isn't a hollyjew horror movie.
do you mean the whole of nazi occultism/esotericism or the search for that artifact? I think it's possible the poster you replied to was talking about the Ark of the Covenant. at least I remember reading something about that a very long time ago and after some googling that seemed to have been lead (if true, of course) by Heinrich Himmler.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nazi_archaeology
it's under "The Search for Atlantis" but there's no anchor url so I can't link it directly

as for occultism/esotericism not directly related to the Ark:
also vril society although I couldn't find anything about that easily

that's about all I remember, havent really looked into this for a long time.

Yeah I meant something like a description of what they did, like a guidebook to Aryan magic, not wikikepedia.
I am 99% certain abrahamic religions are bunk.

What I've never understood about neopagans is why they always go back to one branch - Norse or Celtic or Roman, etc. - instead of the root. Why pick Zeus or Jupiter when we know about Dyeus Phter? Why pick Sol or Aurora when we know about Heusos?

while I agree with you that it is not a good source to get information, I posted those because it took me the least amount of time. frankly I just don't have time to scour the whole web for sources on this, it's been more than 15 years ago since I've looked into this. there are plenty of keywords and/or leads in there you can use to DYOR.

here's some links as a token of good will, some keywords you will find in those wikipedia articles will also be mentioned in these links:
Records show that Himmler and possibly the Thule Society agreed to finance Otto Rahn's trip to the Languedoc in 1931, where he stayed in the village of Lavelanet. On that he trip he evidently satisfied himself that Montsegur was indeed the Montsalvat of the Parzifal Legend. Although he had discovered various cave systems, he had not yet found any treasure. Nevertheless, he remained convinced that he was on the right trail. He had also found, deep in the cave system, drawings on the rock surface depicting Knights Templar, including one which featured a lance - possibly the lance of Longinus, the Spear of Destiny! The outcome of his early foray into Montsegur was his first book Crusade Against the Grail published in 1933.

Thule was a legendary island in the far north, similar to Atlantis, supposedly the center of a lost, high-level civilization. But not all secrets of that civilization had been completely wiped out. Those that remained were being guarded by ancient, highly intelligent beings (similar to the "Masters" of Theosophy or the White Brotherhood).

The truly initiated could establish contact with these beings by means of magic-mystical rituals.

The "Masters" or "Ancients" allegedly would be able to endow the initiated with supernatural strength and energy. With the help of these energies the goal of the initiated was to create a race Supermen of "Aryan" stock who would exterminate all "inferior"races.

also in case you did not know, you can search on just a single site using most search engines like so: thule site:https://www.bibliotecapleyades.net. that will look for the keyword "thule" on any bibliotecapleyades page.

the fact is that this stuff just can't be spoonfed. you have to do a lot of reading, linking, etc. in order to get a picture of what went on (if at all true, of course). at least that was my experience, I like a good rabbithole though.

As a pagan, the best arguments I can give are more ancestral connection with specific branches and, more importantly, more documentation. We know Heusos or Dyeus Phter existed, and I often invoke Jupiter as Dyeus Phter for that reason, but we have no idea what worship of him was like. No real idea what the rituals were like or any cults/aspects of him beyond his general attributes. He's essentially a nameless historical entity that must exist. It's much easier to connect to a being like Jupiter that has a face, myths, and known rituals. And a huge part of the appeal of pre-christian religion is the personal nature of the gods.

As for exclusivity between specific branches, that's a modern hold-over from Abrahamic cultures. Syncretism ought to be practiced as the pre-Christians did it. That is to say, recognizing that the gods represent some more fundamental being we simply put names to and can be worshipped in whatever form that culture or people worships them to the same effect. To the Romans, Odin, Mercury, Lugh, etc. were all the same being so it wasn't an issue to pick and choose which manner you worshipped him in.
