I really never understood why adding a filter toggle is so hard, especially for multiplayer games. It really doesn't help when your filter is inconsistent or heavy handed as well. Some filters are so heavy handed, something nonsense like "foolish item" becomes "fooli*****em", and Palworlds is the epitome of inconsistent. "dick" is unacceptable, but "Dick" is a-ok. Nigger is unacceptable, but put a couple letters in front of it: "dumbnigger", and it will probably pass. Faggot is a no-go, but "faggit" "feggot" "feggit" ect all work.
I understand everyone has different sensibilities, but there's no reason to not have the option to turn it off, or at the very least make it a server setting. It sure as Hell takes me out of the game when I have to either reword what I'm typing 6 fucking times to get past filters enough to make sense, or stop to try and use cryptography to try and figure out what the fuck anyone else is actually saying. Plus, imo, if you're the kind of person who's going to have a historectomy over seeing/hearing "faggot" "retard" or "nigger" in a video game, you have no God damn business on the Internet or playing online multiplayer games to begin with. The Internet, much like the real world, is not a fucking daycare.
