Pretty happy with the announcement and interview, feels refreshing to have GGG address playing feedback on a timescale shorter than one 4 months league. It seems a lot of the current frustrations are due to a mix of the endgame being rushed and under tested and GGG intentionally discarding some previously used design choices to have a fresh slate and see if they can come up with new solutions. Early Access being used as a testing ground.
I played PoE quite a bit albeit quite casually, on and off since Bestiary league. I usually found a build I like online for the class I want to play, played through the story, and did a couple maps and by that point I was bored and quit. [...] It's so involved, by the time I actually got to maps I've used up any and all willpower to continue playing.
I get how you feel but I think you're missing out on the character power and monster density one can achieve by pushing up map tiers and juicing up league mechanics. Maybe try a boss killer build, pushing up Shaper and Elder maps is quite fun and by the time you find yourself in T16 you can almost contend with pinnacles bosses, after which you'll be almost able to clear T17s.
For your choice of playing SSF you should check out small size private leagues, it would let you try new unique enabled builds without having the hamster wheel pressure of the economy.
For PoE 2 I'm sure you'll have a blast with the campaign, but you're better off waiting the free full release so that you get to enjoy the finished campaign.
Anyone had any real success with a Mercenary that doesn't use grenades?
Gemling stats stacker is quite fun but expensive, and likely due for a nerf.
Witch Hunter seems quite good in general, explode on death effect, built-in Cull and pretty nice Decimating Strike. You can double the cull with
Myris Uxor helmet and add 25% with a passive tree node. That would let you insta-kill any normal monster below 66% hp and any rare monster below 22% hp, which would be good on any build. I would probably do it with bows or spells to try to have quick attacks and large coverage. Bows being closer on the passive tree.
He could [hav]e paid for d4 as well. The game is just might be that brain dead that no one could tell that he was clueless
Pretty sure people were pointing out his
entire gear was BiS with perf affixes perf rolls and obviously bought even in D4.
