I think he’s just driving to the border in his truck, maybe with his cats in tow. He needs to do another truck registration, so it could be another southern border jaunt but his recent mentioning vet visits, and carriers, was very unusual. You are required to have good health certificates from a vet to take pets across the border into the USA. He also keeps referring to being on “hiatus” so he expected to be driving for days, so going to the American border seems likely. His southern truck trip was only a day or so.
