Do you really think that Ralph's parents read to him like a normal family would have? I sincerely doubt if anyone were to list the most prominent traits of the Ralph family that "Literacy" would be in the top 20.

He is so starved for attention it’s kind of wild. This is more of the behavior you would see in a 14 year old girl instead of a 40 year old divorced man.

I imagine the holidays must hit him hard. Most people spend the long weekend with family and friends. Ralph is going to play pretend dad to a child for a few hours. A Mexican guy is spends more time in a week with that child than Ethan has in his life.
